Congrats!!!! First I would check to see if all boards are seated well.

Then Check the voltage of P14. its located under the right side near the back of the Blue tube, it is labeled P14 Unplug this connector and put a multimeter to both pin sockets in the connector and turn on the PJ by holding the power button for a few seconds till it turns on.
The voltage should be 6.35 volts and no higher than 6.4, id be more happy if it was closet to 6.35-6.37.

Thats about it.

Reconnect P14 and then fire her up.

Those knowing more than I do about crt will have to chime in for you. Did you get pictures of the tubes before purchase? On Curt's scale what would you say they are?

Looking through the lens, it appears that the green is at 7-8; I can see it but barely. The Red & Blue are at 9-10 as I cannot see any wear. What is the passcode for these projectors? Where would the hours meter be found?

Utilities, service,0901, then diagnostic.

How are the Bellows, are they sweaty? slimy to the touch? Also look for any glycol around the
C-element(have to remove lens) and under the tube housings.

I have to buy an allen wrench to get them off. I have been working with NEC XG and PG for some years now, this set will take some getting used to. What about the age, is there a way to tell the year it was built?

My current screen size is 74in H by 132in W. What is the throw distants for the Vision 1 for this screen size. I have HD-10GT17 Lenses.

it depends on how much of the Raster you use. What most of us do is try to maximize raster use or keep it within
any previous wear on the tube from the previous install. once you get that done on the tube face set it up on the floor.
A wheeled table/Cart works great if you have one or can make one up quickly from a furniture dolly. moved the
PJ till the image fills the screen width wise and you have your distance. Transfer the position to the ceiling.

I never go by throw calculators, well, just to get it close to the position then do as i mentioned above for final mounting location.

Wow that's a big screen. I have a 9500 L/C on a 58'x104" wide, 119" diagonal screen and think it's too dim. At your size screen I have now idea what it will look like.

But to your question of throw distance there is no cut and dry answer. You first maximize your Raster's width, by going to PIC... Size.... and increase width to about 85 for starters. The you look into the lense to make sure the raster is not going of of the tube face.

Then you place the 9500 on a cart or table and move it to where the image fills the screen.

That is the easiest way to do it.

But for a guess I would say your going to be 158" from your {too big} screen.

Read this first It will help a lot.

Happy reading Smile

Hello

132 inch screen width? Way too big, you need edge blending!

I have an xg135lc at running the "big" screen. Is this size limit a product of the lense or the projector? I thought the Vision 1 could did everything NEC could but better - unless I am driving the NEC incorrectly. I think it looks incredible though.

Oh the Vision can throw a 300 inch diagonal picture with the lenses you have.... but for a dynamic picture, 9 feet in width is max. Even though your NEC is filling the screen, it would look much better on a smaller screen.

So the Vision can and will do it, but our personal preferences are being posted. Wink

Thanks for the words of wisdom! I'll readjust my screen size when i put it up. Will the Vision 1 work with the ISS-6010 Switcher? I have one with an HDMI card.
... couple more questions:
I can't get the wired remote to work wirelessly, is there some thing i am missing?
Where are the controls to adjust screen orientation - ceiling vs floor projection?

Yep, There are little jumpers in the battery compartment that need to be moved J-1 to J-2 I think?
