|
|
Hello all,
I have been retubing my BG1209s with the P19LUGs Terry sold at the beginning of the year. I have now put clean glycol back in the LC chambers, but for some reason I am suffering from tiny air bubbles that stick to the surface of the C-element. They are very much like the bubbles you see sticking to a glass of water.
I have installed the tubes to see if they would fire up (they did). My question now is: I assume that the bubbles will go away when the glycol is heated up a bit by the tube, due to the effects of convection etc. Do you agree? Have you seen anything like this before?
Thanks,
Gerbrand

They will go away , but it can take up to 2 weeks depending on how often its used , temperature etc , It will affect PQ with colored haze so don't bother doing a super great setup until they vanish

Yep they will go away. Usually within a week. I find that heat/cooling cycles seem to make them go away faster so I just run the projector for a few hours on and then off for a few.

Agree with all above. I posted the same question some time back.
Sure enough, a couple weeks later they were gone.
I didn't do anything special, tubes where out of the PJ just sitting.

I wonder if a surfactant like simethicone would work to break up the bubbles. Just wondering...

Or, stop using champagne as glycol.

Ah so that is what I have been doing wrong. I have been drinking the glycol and using the champagne for the coolant when it should have been the other way around. No wonder I have headaches and a "yellow push" in my CRT picture.
