My 808s is now running great, after i changed the quad (thanks anyone who helped me with faqs and tips).
I´m thinking about changing the HD8 Lenses into HD145. Does anyone did this and can tell me, if there is really a difference betwenn the projected pictures?

Well assuming the HD145 are color filtered the colors will be more accurate. Once you have seen accurate colors you won't want to go back. Some will say they focus better too. I haven't compared so I cannot say one way or the other but the specs for resolution are the same for both lenses.

I tested and now use a set of color filtered HD-144 lenses rather then standard HD-8 b lenses and the corner and overall focus seem much better with the HD-144 as compared to the HD-8b. The internal color filters also make a huge difference !

The only possible problem is the HD-144 lenses focus about 12 inches closer then the HD-8....

I just installed some colour filtered HD-145 lenses on my Marquee. My initial impression is that the focus sharper than the HD-8 lenses they replaced.

The HD-145 lenses focus about 5 inches closer than my HD-8 lenses. My screen is 83 inches wide.

Biggest improvement you can do for an AC 8" machine in my opinion.

I'd say it is tied with upgraded high res P16 CRTs. Honestly I found even 720P a bit soft with low hour 180DVBs. When I cut over to new P16s it was amazing the difference in resoltution even with HD8s. Of course it is probably pretty hard to find decent priced P16s these days. Mine came from a GL blowout of Ampro Retro replacements.

I had a test some time ago with P16LNP's with HD-8 vs. HD-145 in a Barco Graphics 808.

The HD-145 where much sharper, i would go for them !

From what I have seen, the 145/144s are better. The bigger question is how much will it cost you to add these to your pj. With the cost of 8" LC pjs these days, it is better to upgrade to LC.

Very good point. Certainly if you are located in North America 8" LC sets are frequently going for $500 or less.
