That is what I would do.
I'm not familiar with the screen you have, but it needs to have a gain of no more than 1.0 to be successful, and you will be pleased with the results.

Gain should be 1.0

Would you consider to buy two TVone's or one AnalogWay ?

If you hold on TV-One is suppose to come out with a new Dual processor/Output unit that has much more control than its previous models. Also in this model they are suppose to fix the way they implement the blend. A completely different approach , well it was hinted to me from one of the engineers while looking at the issues with the units I and Bob use.

Mmmmm I've got new tubes, a new set of L/C housings coming in, and 8500's are sooo cheap.

Hello

Analog is announcing a new unit in December for around $6400, so hang on a few weeks until we see what the features are.

Also, stop by our Open House if you are visiting near Phoenix: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=24105.html

Stacks are only good for light output. If you are going to put that much into it, then you might as well go blend.

El Topo,
Is this your set up or are you doing it for someone else? Either way, I would say that a blend is your best bet. If you have two pjs, then you can play with some software solutions to see how you like it.

If I remember right, 8500's can't handle the geometry to do a stack.

Not yet, it is a few weeks off. I have requested a demo unit for evaluation.

Guys

For those not familiar with edge blending, both projectors shoot straight on to the screen, each projector lighting up about 60% of the screen width. This picture shows two Marquees displaying white field, one is blanked at the top and the other at the bottom so the contrast modulation can be seen:

That is one of the best ways I have seen to demonstrate and explain soft edge blending.
Good to see a proper overlap shown too

I still have four left, but I can't get the room to work on them. Unfortunately, I inherited a roommate with a part time kid. I am headed to Atlanta next week and then I am coming back down to Miami the following week. I am trying to get the Sonys out of the way first and then I am going to work on the Barcos. There is nothing wrong with the Sonys. I just have no place to put them. Heck, I have full size Rolling Thunder video game that I wanted to dump to make some room in the garage, but my roommate cried and begged me to keep it. Sorry rant over. It is just bugging me (and apparently those that have been PMing me:)) that I can't work on them yet.

Thats a huge over lap!!! on a 12 foot screen my over all blend zone is 14 inches about. Tim what percentages does the AnalogWay use, is it fixed or can it be user selectable? With the TV-One you can basically choose what ever zone size and zooming you want.

It also looks like a 16:9 screen...That's much different than I thought the typical blend was setup with "scope" screen.

I think Tim uses a 1.92 aspect if I remember correctly. I have a memory set up for my 1.78 material from my Sat Box and i think its an even smaller blend zone. If setting up for scope it does not make sense to watch 1.78 material too much as you use less tube face on the outer edges. I actually have enough room between my PJ's where i can set up a third CRT just a bit further back than the blend CRT's are at. I might set one up for 1.78 material only. I was thinking the G90 for this Smile

Overlap is zero (edge butt) to 500 pixels or so, that is a very old picture, I currently use 394 pixels or 20% of 1920 found in HDTV signals.

My plan is to use a Shocked digital Shocked!!

I have quite a few questions to ask you Nash, but I am going to wait till I have the LC conversion done on my second 808!
