I have a harmony 785 but have searched and searched for a file that can be used with it with no success.
I have 4 days off and have been piling up the movies just for this occasion

Hi, My 1208 remote did the same thing a couple of weeks ago, I pulled the battery out again and pushed every button multiple times when I reinstalled the battery it worked.

First off what is the manufacturing date of your proejctor? There are two kinds of Barco codes pre-spring 2000 and post spring 2000. They are completely incompatible with each other. The LED in the upper right corner of the older units is red and the newer ones green as I recall (it has been a while since I saw a Barco original). Once you know that I think your options are either get somebody to program a cheapie remote and send it to you. Troll ebay for an original they show up there pretty often. I think Curt also sells or did sell programed remotes preprogrammed. I tried the codes that were stored on the Harmony site and they didn't work for me. I ended up borrowing a 909 remote and programming a cheap 4 in 1 remote from it (my Runco used the later codes).

If there is no led when you press any button remote is probably broken. Have you checked battery connector cable solders to pcb?
What's wrong with internal remote until you find new remote or get old one repaired? Or does Runco even have internal remote in back panel?
If not, you can chance power up mode dip switch from controller so that projector turns on when mains are connected. It should remember previous memory block.

I'll look around for an original ,thanks!
So does a 909 remote work with the 1209s?

No Led with any button at all,I've opened up the remote to check solder joints and they seem fine, the remote in the back plane has never worked (can I pull this out and mod it to accept battery?)
I know about the dip switches but it's something I don't want to have to do every time I want to watch something.

I've got aftermarket remotes with the Barco codes programmed in (old or new) for $60 incl shipping.

So does a 909 remote work with the 1209s?

In my case yes, I borrowed one from Greg Eisemann from a 909 he had. The only hesitation I have is there *might* have been some 909s built prior to Spring 2000? I don't know but I think you are pretty safe in assuming that any 909 remote would work. Oh and my Runco 1100 remote crapped out too.
Edit: I should add that the one that crapped out was the hand held one. The one in the back of my projector works fine.

Once the dip switch is thrown it will power cycle the projector automatically when the "hard" power switch is cycled. You don't have to throw the dip switch each time. You just have to use the hard power switch to turn on and off the projector. It is probably a good stop gap measure.

Yes .......you are correct! It's been a while since I've done this. It'll get me outta trouble for a while.Shanks
Curt.
Do these remotes you supply perform every function of the original? If so....... you got mail!
