yes, a simple 1 is to replace the clc449 with el5166 and add the peaking circuit.
you could also add some caps on the plus and minus 5 volt line to the opamp, many have done this.

the neckboards need some uprades too and 1 of them is also the replacement of the clc449 with a el5166 along with some inductor changes and a peaking on the opamp just like on the vim.

i think i will just go ahead and try a bit and post some pics of 1on 1off patterns before and after.

gjaky, do you have the 03p vim?
i highly recommend it over the 02p version, low level detail is much better.
i am talking stock versions of course.

you can upgrade those m9000s 03p boards too, just add the gamma circuit.
maybe some other things need to be changed out as well (not sure) and yes the hfa1100 were used till 1996 and should be replaced by the el5166.

nashou has done some work on the old 03p vims and jarmo too (1031).

i thought you were talking about the 2035-03p however.

ok, i have replaced l1 l3 l2 l7 and altered the value r24 from 390 to 475 and left the 1k r84&r85 out as scott suggested.

let it run for a while and so far so good.

will add the peaking with varicap later this evening.

one thing i did notice is that peaking on the vim needs to be redone after changing the inductors.

ok, i added the peaking at the opamp but did not notice any difference.

it is obvious now that not only bandwidth is crucial but a proper setup mechanical and optical is paramount for resolving 1920*1080.
having better focus coils are needed too imo to get the best out the marquee, especially when using lcp`s and running contrast 60 or higher.

edit: it is safe however, changing inductors and adding the peaking, this does no harm to the neckboards, i have ran the pj 24hrs straight without problems.
