hmmn... that makes me sad.... i have 2 sets of 7.5 or so... but am looking to find a set a spot less traveled.... i hope i can find some by the time these tubes make it to 5 or i will have to look into laser, or led projection, or importing a g90 from the other side of the world, that would be fun.....

Did you try contacting VDC?
to be honest. these tubes are very expensive anyway. I remember them being around $600 each and you would be crazy to buy them even at $300 each seeing that you can get a nice condition sony G70 for $500 now that would be worlds better in every way to a D50.
I have asked this many times but no one has responded to this question. I heard a while back that the very cheap and very common sony MS07 tubes are the same as the D50 tubes only have a different faceplate. Can someone confirm this? It would be time consuming and difficult to swap the front housings but maybe a good option for some people who would like to keep their d50 going with new tubes.

sorry I meant 07ms tubes. they are very common and were used in may Sony and Electrohome sets. a similar tube is the older sd187 and I believe the focus voltage is a little less but nearly 100% compatible to 07ms. actually most mid to late 1990's ES 7" sets will have them.

Contact Curt in a week or so, he'll have a few 07MS sets in stock that are in great shape. He's picking them up from me on Sunday.

not normally no, but if i cant buy P14LKJ03 for love nor money, then I'll have a go at some modding a 07ms to fit, and being as i have two fully working d50's if one dies in the endeavor its no great loss, on the ground that if i cant get tubes for it in the first place it is what it is....
