Hello,

My tubes show almost no wear except the blue one (7/10) but G2 Levels are Green 66, Blue and Red about 70-75.

I can get the green to focus so that i can see scanlines on 720p 60HZ or 1080i 60Hz nearly until the corners.

Red focus is slighty worse but also can see scanlines in the centre, blue is far off from seeing scanlines.

i know blue would never be as sharp as green or red but i think it's too bad.

What would you say about the tubes ? Would their be way better focus with better tubes (i guess the answer for the blue is yes but also for the green and red) ?

best regards
manuel

have you checked the glycol in the blue tube, it should be crystal clear.
also when there is no glycol in but something else like water and glycerol the refractive index is too far off to get the corners to focus.
this is the case on my marquee, lc to be exact an ac will be different of course.

if you have a problem with the cornerfocusdue to the ri of the fluid move a white piece of paper to the pj to see if it will focus.
if it does and you have tried everything to get the corners to focus and you do not get good results replace the fluid.
it will not be a subtle difference between nearly focussed or not that bad but if the fluids ri is not right you will get horrible focus in the corners.

Also check the P14 filament voltage, it should be 6.35 volts.

ok P14, second pin (HTR2) i have 8.15V ? is this filament voltage ? if yes i quickly have to do the mod.

what if filament voltage mod is done and it's stable, is their any change to the G2 levels ? or is too high fillament unrepairable damage to the tubes?

WOW!!!!! Man those tubes are toast!!!!!!! Sorry but even after the mod you will not get any better performance.

But there is a bright side. Some one in italy is selling a set of 9 inch tubes for 450 Euros. I bet he'll let them go for less.

All you'll need is the top and bottom plates. And nikec on E-bay has them for about 150 dollars.
