What do I need to have 3D using an HTPC? So far I have:
SONY G90 with latest version Moome HDMI input card
HTPC; AMD Phenom II CPU, GeForce 285 card, Windows 7 64bit, Arcsoft TMT5 player, Blu-ray drive
I know I need glasses and emitter and some way to get a sync signal to the emmiter. I can see how it's done using Lumagen processors but it seems the processors do the same thing the HTPC does to a point.
So is there a dongle or something that I need?

I've got 3D working on my Sony 1292 using a PS3 connected to an Optoma 3d-xl and then to a Moome ext V1 or V2, both work with 720p120Hz input
For glasses I've got the Optoma rf kit including a 3p din to jack cable.
It surprices me that there is no trace of ghosting or motion blur, I'd expected these poblems.
Maybe the installed anti-streak mod helps correcting these problems ...
Of course the picture is dimmer but still usable in a dark room, only the subtitles look more grey than white.
A funny thing with the rf emitter is that you can connect it to a laptop and then change the dutycyle settings and see what it does for the brightness. This is much easier then messing with the mini joystick on the rf emitter.
I installed the Monster vision software giving me a way to update the firmware of the glasses when needed.
Unfortunately my Crystalio II scaler can't accept 720p or 1080p 120Hz so I had to work without it for 3D.
So far this is very nice result with a very small investment of €225 for new glasses and a used 3d-xl

My Carada screen is 235cm wide and 16:9.
Contrast is set to max and brightness is 80%, I also increased the contrast potmeter on the Moome V2 which I use only for 3D.
Both input cards are ifb12 rgb for the best bandwidth.

Thanks, as I thought. Perhaps in 2D you down to 70% or less. I'm thinking to buy a high gain screen to regain some light.

My Carada is the brilliant white type with 1.4 gain, 2D is really bright.
You can see it at daylight, then this screen reflects way more light then the white walls do.
Beware for the gray or silver screens, you might get hotspotting problems and a smaller view angle.

Oh I know, I've found a 1.8 gain white fabric here in Italy, but it's new ... I need someone to test it

Does anyone else have the nVIDIA wireless glasses working? I have them working using Power DVD 11 Ultra, amazing effect when they do work, have had some lock up and some reset issues with the computer though...

May have solved the resetting issues... Had it running 1 hr without an issue... Was bluray playing that caused reset though, and not 3D. Flashed BIOS and went back to 285 nVIDIA driver and so far all seems ok... ( had issues with all drivers prior to flashing BIOS, i was using a BETA version... )

I also got the G90 working with 3D using the same setup as posted above: DVD/Dune -> Optoma 3D-XL -> G90 using the latest Moom card and Monstervision RF glasses. Depending on the over all brightness of each movies, brightness settings were varied between 30-60 and contrast between 70-80; and these settings were well within the normal playing range of the G90 even for normal 2D materials. The 3D effect was very good, clean, bright enough and no ghosting. Audio was fed to my receiver using the Coax out from Dune. I am happy with the minimal cost of investment to be able to get 3D on the G90.
The Dune menu was messed up due to left/right frame overlay; so, I displayed the Dune Menu only on the Left half of the screen on top of a black back ground by manipulating the the Dune_Folder.txt file. The Optima box seemed to display pictures a bit darker than the G90 itself; so, there was some detail lost in the darker areas. As a result, I used a 1x4 HDMI splitter and a 2x1 HDMI selector to bypass the Optoma for normal 2D viewing. The 1x4 splitter also has a Coax out for digital audio, and this should reduce/eliminate lip-sync problems due to heavy processing delay in case I add a separate 2D-to-3DE converter (3D-Bee) in parallel to the Optoma in the future.
