This is utterly frustrating.

I run my Sony G70 off a computer.
My faithful Inline RGBHV box was starting to give up the ghost. So I bought an unpowered breakout cable which didn't provide sufficient signal for a good picture. So I was advised to buy an Extron 202xi. It finally came yesterday. I hooked it up today and got no signal. I called Extron and we tried different things without success. The tech asked me to change my Windows resolution to something lower like 800x600. This required me to swap the Extron back to my unpowered breakout cable so I could see a picture.

What's horrible is this cable which worked before isn't showing a signal.

The projector does display internal signal.

Video muting is off.
Input is set to switcher 1

I tested the computer with another monitor and its still sending out a video signal.
I've tried unseating and reseating my input card in the projector but it didn't help.

Also aggravating is I have duplicate cards for most everything in my G70 from another one except for some dumb reason I didn't save the input card even though there was one on it.

Could the Extron box have done something to my input card?
Is there some other switch I could have accidentally turned off that is not letting me get a signal?

can you set neg and positive sync on the box or in the g70 or else from powerstrip (that would be the easiest way)
try that first.

I don't what setting negative and positive sync means. But the problem now since hooking up that box is the projector doesn't seen any input signal so anything having to do with Powerstrip is out of the question. I can't see DOS or Windows. The projector clicks as it usually does when its seeking a signal but finds none. So after it displays "No input" all I see is black.

I'll see if I can find it on the G70 menu.

What dennis is saying some Projectors need certain horizontal and vertical syncs polarities.

Page 3 talks about sync settings. Read through the manual. It might have something you need to do.

I checked the G70 menu and while there is a synch setting, but its not lit green so it is not available.

Thanks Athanasios and Dennis for the suggestions but at the moment making the Extron work is at the bottom of my concern list. I can't get the projector to see ANY input even from a plain cable hooked to my video card that was always
worked fine. It wasn't the picture I have grown accustomed to but it was watchable and I could see something besides black.

Right now I'd be happy just to have the crappy old picture back. The only thing the projector is good for at the moment is showing grid patterns and menus.

I don' t think I've ever had a case where the input board blew up without giving some kind of error message, and the projector shutting down as a result. I believe the G70 will take positive or negative sync. Check continuity on the cables maybe? Loss of 1 of the sync lines will get you a no pix condition..

I know. I don't understand the problem at all. It feels like its working normally. It never made a strange sound while testing the Extron box. I just unhooked the box and hooked it back up the way it was. But no input.

I have tried it with the breakout cable which has five inputs. I have also tried it with the Inline box which has 4 four lines. I have swapped the color cables and used them for the two synch lines. As long as one of the color cables is working it should produce a picture. But I still get no input.

This feels like one of those simple forehead slapping problems where you accidentally hit a button and turned something off or its unplugged. It can't be broke but at the moment it is.

I'm going to wait it out at least a week in hopes of having a revelation. But I may have to send the card in.
