Dang, you're pondering this and you're also not far from Tim Martin (Tim in Phoenix) who has been (even outside of these forums) one of the most known Marquee experts in this country. He's very quite on the forums, but a powerhouse of almost 20 years of experience working on Marquees.
The absolutely best way to solve your problem. And one that could put that Marquee in the best shape mechanically, electronically and magnetically.

That's because he's so humble here. He's Electrohome trained and well known and respected by a lot of the former engineers there. Him and I still stay in touch with some of them. I was just on the phone this past week with one former Electrohome engineer and another Electrohome expert. One in Canada and the other in the states. They still regard him as being one of the best.

Did you miss the first part of my post? I was talking about tearing it down first. I can mount a Marquee projector on a ceiling with one hand. The chassis can be completely stripped down in less than 30 minutes. The part of the chassis that gets mounted to the ceiling, weighs about 10lbs. 
The marquee internal structure is not very complicated and with pictures, is very easy to put back together again.

Yep, I've been to Tim's house in Scottsdale. He's in an awesome location. But I guess most all of Scottsdale is fairly fancy.
Tim is good people and a true Electrohome Marquee professional. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets to the Madrigal before you do.

116" wide is too big for a the Madrigal/9500LC, IMO. I had my 9500LC at max raster size displaying on a true 1.3 gain 110" wide Stewart 130 screen and it was usesless during the day. Very nice at night, but you're really pushing it at that size.

I forgot to mention. For a 116" wide screen, you're looking at somewhere around 15' throw distance from the face of the lens, to the screen. This is dependent on which HD10X lens and raster useage and other variables.
And btw, not all Marquee lens will focus well at 116" wide.

my screen is 2,65mtr wide (16:9) and my throw is about 3.2mtr that is with hd10gt17 lenses.

Well Guys. Thank you very much for all of the support. Everyone here was right - I called the seller a few minutes ago and someone had just purchased the projector. I missed out on a good deal.
The two guys that bought it took it apart (the sellers words) and checked it out and everything was good.
I also talked to Tim and he was very helpfull. Thank you Tim.
Well, maybe next time. By the way, I may need help with my Runco, but that is another story.

There are a lot of deals out there right now. I wouldn't worry about the loss too much.
Last year I found a "good deal" on a G90 in New Jersey and right after I received it, another G90 about an hour from me was listed on eBay. Turned out the NJ G90 needed new tubes. The eBay G90 didn't sell so I went to check it out. It was perfect and had recently been completely retubed with Eiseman P19lugs and calibrated by Terry F. While I didn't "steal" it, the price was very good. Ended up scrapping the first G90 and got most of it's cost back. I held back the YA board in case I ever needed it. Mac is using the chassis as a test mule.

Unfortunately Colorado doesn't seem to be the right place very often. I haven't been actively hunting but it's really rare to see projectors come up around here -- and when they do it's usually some guy offering his Sony 1031 for $500...
And Wyoming, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Utah are even worse.

Helped a friend from work scoop up a Runco badged 6PGX last week from a high end shop in Boulder for 100 bucks. Came with everything and it was mint with really nice tubes.
Asked the shop manger why it was pulled and he said customer wanted CIH. The 6PGX was replaced with an LED Projector shooting onto a curved and motorized screen. The screen alone was $35K 
manager" I still think CRT has the best pic overall, I almost put this in my theater"
Otherwise you won't find any Vidikrons or G90's around here

Yeah, I actually just looked this morning and saw that one. Figured it was probably long gone. With the focus issues &etc I've had with my 8500 I considered it, even though it would be a step down otherwise.

Yeah I think the "coasts" are better places to find the hot deals. Also the distances between cities, especially on the east cost mean you have a lot more population centers within a day's drive.

You would think Aspen would be full of old Runcos and Vidkrons and Madrigals. Lacking in regular boardroom and enterprise class machines from Barco, and Electrohome themselves.
