Well i read a test somewhere that the contrast was 800:1 with autoiris off, i also thought it must be wrong.

As i said, i thought the image was better then the rest.

What is your budget? If you want a great pj for a good price, then go for the JVC or Epson at $2500.

I just got my Sony HW15 and i am VERY happy Smile I might have had a badly tuned BG1208, but the Sony appears to have about the same blacks.. I have watched a couple of movies with autoiris on (fast) and with it off, and can say it is good.

Brightness on my white gain 1.3 screen is much higher than the barco, and colors are excellent i think.
