Hy there, i just bought an Sony 1271 QM.
In my projector, the right slot is free with no board in it. At the left slot, a DE board is plugged in. So i just do have 9 zones of convergence. Do the 1271 models normally don't have that board? Can i put in a DD board to have 21 zones of convergence?
If yes, what is the part number of the needed board?
regards

No, you also need the Y board so the software has the 21 point convergence programmed into it. I believe the DE and DD boards are simply the extra memory to store the 21 point convergence.

Isn't this weird though, Curt? I thought all 1271's should have 21-point convergence, shouldn't they?

Ya know, I can't remember. If they did from stock, then someone probably swapped the Y boards and DD/DE boards into another set. WIth multiple owners at this point (pun intended), anything can happen.
BTW, I've never really found the need for the 21 point convergence. You can almost always do an excellent setup with 9 points, you just need to take your time to do it right.
