As Scott's agent, he was looking forward to taking the week off and traveling to see a Longbow blend. Unfortunately, he couldn't afford a plane ticket nor did he have a place to stay. Also, the availability of Greek food was somewhat limited.

No vacation until it cools off some. I hate this heat. My main computer is down with a virus I got while cruising the P2P sites downloading movies to watch on my fine Ampro (actually VDC) 3600. I'm getting it fixed this weekend so maybe not so much posting afterwards.

much safer to download from newsgroups and much faster too.
you are not dependent on seeders either which is a big plus because you will always get a complete movie and not one that is missing a few bytes.

And with well over 700 days retention, there are over 2 years worth of HD movies posted to choose from, thousands of movies and tv shows, all in HD, of course...

Check out the remake of Sherlock Holmes from GB if you get chance...

Which nzb are you after ? (edit: DOH ! reread your post, PM'd you the nzb's)

If you use newsgroups, I'm sure you must know about the nzb indexing sites like nzb matrix. I use that one now, I used to use Merlins Portal till it disappeared. I also use binsearch if I need to. I get the heads up on HD material from abhdtv.net , then just use binsearch to find all the parts, very easy...

So I took my VIM to a local guy, an old Chinese guy, VERY good tech, but virtually impossible to get him to actually DO anything. He refused to do any of the updates or resolder anything, just cleaned the corrosion from that U35 chip, told me "that will fix it". Low and behold, it appears as if he's right. I haven't had time to run it for more than 10 minutes or so, but in that amount of time, there were no symptoms...

I'm buying a spare VIM anyway, there's one cheap, so I might as well...

Thanks very much to everyone who tried to help nail this down, I think we might have saved another projector from being parted out...(not that I know what I'll DO with it now...my collection is starting to build up again...).

Awesome! If you don't see any symptoms, then you don't need the tech bulletins. Enjoy that VIM. You just need a set of Scott's new high bandwidth neck boards and your in business!

Paul, i'd get the leaky bellows fixed first.

Shameless plug Wink

But Honestly if that glycol leak gets worse then you might as well dump that marquee now or sell it to someone who's willing to spend the money to fix her right.

Wink

The leak is at the top of the red*(colored) C element, between the C element and the ring that holds it in. Being the cheap ass I am, I'm going to try draining, disassembling and refilling first. See if I can simply re-seat the current bellows and get it to seal. I installed the green and red c elements myself originally, the green sealed perfectly, the red had the tiny leak in the top. Its small enough that it took over a year to notice it.
