My Inline box died and I need an inexpensive replacement to link my computer to the Sony projector about ten feet away.. The 15' long unpowered cable is insufficient to deliver the signal. I am currently working with an ATI HDXXXX DVI pumping 1080i signal to the RGBHV ins on my G70. The audio is going into the receiver with an optical jack.

The current choices within my budget are an Extron Xi box around 50 dollars or an HD Fury 1 approx 60 dollars.

I assume I need to buy or use some sort of power adaptor to plug into the HD Fury. Is that right?
Is there any advantage either solution?

Thanks,
Robin

Hi Robin, the HDFury1 won't do it. There's no cable driver stage. You would need to combine the HDFury1 with a GammaX, BUF2000, etc or Extron Box to do it. The HDFury2 will work, it will drive 25 foot cables.

Your best bet would be just the Extron box running RGBHV or an HDFury2.

Thanks. I was afraid there wouldn't be anyone familiar with both devices.
Its good to know this might be a stepping stone. I rustled up some work this week so I
can get back to normal again.
