Folks,
I have a Barco Cine6 which I’d like to press into service using the same screen which the G70 currently uses. G70 is ceiling mounted and the C6 would need to be on the floor (under a coffee table). Problem is that in order to fill the screen, the coffee table would need to be immediately in front of the main seating, so I’m searching for a front aluminised mirror so I can “fold” the C6 by rotating it 180 and moving it closer to the screen.
Any ideas where I can find a suitable mirror (and mount perhaps)...?

Hello
The mirrors with stands were for rear-screen, I am afraid the mirror will block your viewing if used front-screen.

Mirrors work fine with FP too. Just draw the light path as a triangle and fold where you want the mirror. This will tell you the size of the mirror you need.
You can also point the projector up and have the mirror mounted from the ceiling.
I've already given away the 2 huge Barco first-surface mirrors that I had in my equipment closet. But I've got a smaller mylar mirror (maybe 36" wide) from a RPTV that would work in a pinch until you found something better. But are you overseas?

Really, Clarence? Because every time I've ever tried to draw up a mirror configuration, the projector and/or mirror always ends up being what I would consider pretty unusable in a FP space.
You flip the projector 180-deg so it's pointing away from the screen. Fine. Then you put the mirror in front of it. Well, to keep the mirror small, you have to tilt the projector up for the light path to clear the projector case. But, then you have a big tilted projector in the middle of the floor/screen bottom AND a mirror hovering out in front of it. OK, so you pull the mirror away from the projector for better projection clearance so you can drop the projector down a little, but then the mirror has to be bigger to accommodate the projection. Now, you have a big mirror right in the middle of the space. Meh.

I don't know what the OP's room layout looks like, but if he's backed up against the back wall and needs 3' or so of extra throw distance, then he could point the projector up and then use the mirror to bounce it 90 degrees towards the front wall.
I'm not familiar with the C6 throw distances, but after re-reading the original post, it sounds like he already has enough throw distance since the C6 is already in front of the front seats. So in this case, I agree, adding a mirror would only clutter up the whole layout, add more view obstructions, aim light towards the viewers, plus decrease PQ.
Ed, can you post a quick visio sketch of your room?

I looked into this when I first joined the forum. You used to be able to find first surface mirrors 12"x12" for like $10 each (1 per tube). You could order a custom size but the cost was a lot more.

This has been done and worked OK according to what I heard 2nd hand,
of course with such a low ceiling height, there will be issues no matter what you do.
