|

Hi folks,
I've put hours into trying to get my G70 and PC-3000 switcher working together and I'm stumped.
G70 has V1.10 firmware. PC-3000 is also feeding my VPL-HS20. I've checked all the cables and everything works.
Signals get to my HS20 no probs. Cards in my switcher, Source 1 IFB-12A set for HDTV GBR, Src 2, IFB-12A for HDTV YPBPR, Src 3 IFB-12A Component, Src 4 IFB-12A Component.
Initially I did not have the dipswitches on the IFB-12A's set correctly, and I could get pics on the G70, however in the wrong input types. Now the switches I hope are set correctly, and the correct directiion, ala when 1 needs to be on, I have pushed the switch away from the number 1 across to the ON side. Is this right?
I've set the G70 to RGB and turned 5 BNC on, which then of course does not let me select what types of input I want.
I gather the PC-3000 is meant to tell the G70 what signals are being sent to it by what is set on the IFB dip switches.
Switching sources on the PC-3000 does make the G70 recall different memories, but none that let me see a pic. The G70 reports "No input" I've tried changing from video to S-Video and back, but still no go.
Also I'm unable to change the G70's inputs using the video input buttons on the front panel of the PC-3000.
I'm using a genuine Sony 9 pin cable on PJ-Coms and have the termination connected as shown in the PC-3000 book. The PC-3000 is switcher 1 and the G70 index is 1. I've done multiple power down and ups. Always have the G70 running before I let the PC-3000 re-config.
On another matter, how are the input memories recalled? I see the G70 at times changes with input changes, but what if I wish to recall others?
I'm yet to line the G70 up, just want to check the basic source selection works first.
I thought I was pretty capable until this. It's doing my head in. Please help.
Many thanks in pleading anticipation, Dave.

G70 automatically selects a memory block based on the input frequency. Unless the input is set to YPbPr then only MEM #9 loads.
Have you tried connecting your source directly to the PJ bypass the switcher?

Thanks for your reply AFryia, with disconnecting PJ-Coms and turning off 5 BNC mode all works as expected, even through the switcher to the G70. I just have to change the format type on input settings for it to work. I expect this is what 5 BNC Mode is meant to do.
Connecting the PJ-Coms and turning on 5 BNC mode, makes the G70 display "No video input".
Doing a System Config on the PC-3000 does not help. I'm wondering if the PJ-Coms remote to the G70 is faulty, as I cannot change the G70's Video/S-Video inputs with the front panel of the PC-3000 either.
Am I missing some step?
G70 is config'd to communicate to Switcher 1-1
G70 index set to 01.
PC-3000 is set as switcher 1.
All IFB's in the switcher are correctly set.
PJ-Coms connected with a Sony 9 pin cable.
I set the G70 input to RGB and then turn on 5 BNC mode.
It's not a goer.
Any other ideas? Many thanks, Dave.

Okay, I've now found on the G70 that I must select Switcher 1-1 after turning 5 BNC on, this keeps the projector seeing the video. Also I'd connected to PJ-Coms which was wrong so then connected to RS-422. Baud rate for both G70 and PC-3000 set at 38.4k. Still no go.... Just read that the PC-1272 switcher when connected to the projector by only 5 BNC uses Control S, so I connected Control S to the G70 and all is much better. The front buttons do toggle through inputs to a degree. Also the IR remote only works now via the PC-3000 and not direct to the G70. I'll have to make a switch in the cable as I use the PC-3000 to also feed a HS-20. The power button on the PC-3000 also operates the G70.
So I'll run through with 5 BNC on and off what I am now getting.
5 BNC on: All sources G70 stays at Input RGB
Input 1. HDTV GBR All seems pretty good. Input info shows Input signal blank. RGB. Mem 26
Input 2. HDTV YPbBr Colours are mainly green. Assume YUV at RGB. Image is unlocked, incorrect frequency.
Input signal blank. RGB. Mem 2
Input 3. Not tested.
Input 4. Component Green picture. Input signal blank. RGB. Mem 0
Input 5. Component Green picture. Input signal blank. RGB. Mem 0
5 BNC off
Input 1. HDTV GBR No image. G70 says "no video input" Input shows as HDTV GBR Input mem 27.
Input 2. HDTV YPbBr Image is okay, although locked about a 1/4 way down the screen. Input HDTV YPbBr Input mem 9.
Input 3. Not tested.
Input 4. Component Image good. Input Component. Image mem 23.
Input 5. Component Image good. Input Component. Image mem 23.
Seems that the PC-3000 is not reporting the IFB configs to the G70 for correct signal selection. Any suggestions
Also how do I recall different Input Mems There's 99 registers, how do I get to them?
Any ideas certainly appreciated. Thanks, Dave.
