Howdy,

I just completely retubed this projector - everything is working after the first fireup, but the red tube has two issues:

1) The video is significantly dimmer than the B & G. Menus seem fine

2) The focus is way out - B & G are fine without any adjustment

Thoughts anyone?

swap neck boards with the b or g and see if the dimness follows the neck board...

Also, since it's the red tube...maybe you could revert back to the previous one as red should be the last tube to get wear.

I think I may have jumped the gun on the red tube's emission issue - after throwing the lenses on it, I think it's ok - white is white at least.

All of that being said - I just noticed this now (can't figure out how I missed it) but the tube bell is illuminated red (see attached). I've never seen this before on any other set I've owned - is this normal?? Still wrestling with focus..

EDIT: Just realized I'm a super idiot - all 3 tubes do this... only had the red tube on when I took the picture... don't tell anyone Razz

Have you set brightness (and therefore activated AKB)?

You will then need to tweak the Kelvin settings.

Hey people make mistakes, its easy to forget the other tubes are off, I've hardly been with a CRT, but It has happened to me once! especially with the 1272Q I owned, since the buttons are right next to the Tube selection buttons... Darn Sony's!
