I'm confused. The switcher is hampering the signal in your setup?
The monoprice switcher that I have actually helps the hdfury1 in my setup. I have a 20 foot 22awg hdmi run from the switcher to the hdfury and it works great without the power supply except at 1080p, then it has sparklies. Plug in the supply and they go away.
Jeff, What model of hdmi switcher did you buy?

Jeff, I don't know if it's long enough for you, but I have a 25' Steren Python 5-BNC snake I'd sell you for $35 shipped. Looks like this...

It's been used once for a few days while I tried stacking 12xx's... Probably no reason to have it sitting around anymore.

Here's the product link at the Steren site:
ITEM # 254-825IV

No problem, I found it and had a little chat with their Level 2 tech support:

Please wait for a site operator to respond.

You are now chatting with 'TS - Jonah C (Level 2)'

TS - Jonah C (Level 2): (To see a copy of our Chat Privacy policy, please go to the following address, http://solutions.liveperson.com/about/privacy.asp )
TS - Jonah C (Level 2): Thank you for contacting Monoprice Tech Support.
TS - Jonah C (Level 2): My name is Jonah. How may I assist you?

you: Hello Jonah, I was wondering if you could tell me how long an HDMI cable the hdx-401e switcher can run?

TS - Jonah C (Level 2): We have a had really good success with 50ft runs
TS - Jonah C (Level 2): using our 22AWG Cable

you: I see on the information page it says to not use cables shorter than 4 feet on the input of the switcher. Why is that?

TS - Jonah C (Level 2): This switch seems to work best with 4ft or longer cables. not sure why but it does

you: Lastly are there any known issues with running DVI through this switcher?

TS - Jonah C (Level 2): No there are not any

you: Thank you for your time today

TS - Jonah C (Level 2): jst will not get audio as DVI does not support Audio

you: Right

TS - Jonah C (Level 2): Thank you for shopping at Monoprice.com. Have a nice day.
TS - Jonah C (Level 2): You're very welcome

So this switcher is already amplified/equalized and you aren't getting a signal. I'd go with Ecrabb's offer if the cable is long enough

No.

The short cables won't work. Forget the digital cables and run the RGBHV

You will need a minimum 6 foot DVI to HDMI cable for your TS-160

Apparently the signal out of my ts-165 is different than the signal out of your ts-160.

i am at a loss, you mean forget the hdmi cable to the pj?
if il order a 6 ft dvi-hdmi cable for the ts-160 does it need to be a dual like we spoke of yesterday?
the way things are looking i'm thinking i might be better off to just to forget about this ts 160 as it is starting to look like i am going to have to replace all the cables i just bought. i set this up ass backwards from the get go because i have the hd fury 3 and gamma x at the pj not at the source which is apparantly where it belongs. i have no inexpensive way to correct this situation now, except to start from scratch buy all new 35 ft cables and get divorced. i gotta think about this for awhile. i just bought a sony g70 off ebay which i have to pick up thursday it has a moome board in it. the seller is a curt palme member and seems like a nice guy. now i need to rethink everything. thanks again, jeff

If you bought the G70 with the Moome card, then I'd hold off doing anything. Just wait and see what happens with the new setup.

I assume this isn't one of the Iowa G70's, right?

forget about that dual link doesnt work and you dont need it.
i know because i had the problem with cropped images when exceeding 165mhz pixelclock trying to get 1080p 72hz to work with dvi-hdmi to moome.(latest moome so it can handle the higher pixelclocks).
hdmi uses single link so your dual link dvi isnt gonna change that.
single link dvi is good for 1920*1080 60hz (till 64 with agressive porch settings) to be clear single link can easily handle 1080p 60hz.

it is the iowa g70, two of them, one with a moome board and 1300 hrs, one with no moome board and 5000 hrs. i ended up paying 460.00 us for both i am looking forward (putting it mildly) to getting the sonys. the 1300 hr one has the following cyrt palme grade on the tubes, red9 blue 7 green 7. the 5000 hr pj has g5 b5 r9 tubes plus he has an extra set of tubes about the same as the 5000 hr pj he is giving me. jeff

Get rid of the ts-160 and get one that has hdmi output. I had no idea you were going to get a new pj with a moome card. keep the signal digital all the way.
