Hi all. I've spent a few weeks trying to pin down a problem with my Marquee 8500 projector. The initial problem presented with the projector not powering up completely and a repetitive "click" being heard. Upon further investigation, I found out that there is some HV arcing going on in or around the green tube. I replaced the HV lead and the arcing seemed to go away for a short time, but now it is back. I tried to swap the CRT sockets before the arcing returned and the problem stayed with the green tube. Anyone have any thoughts on whether I need to re-do the HV lead replacement, or if there is another likely place for the arcing to be located?

Hello

It could also be the anode splitter, or the anode plug from the other tubes or hvps. Try taking the green tube covers off, and operate the 8500 in a pitch dark room, perhaps you can see a spark.
