Hello guys,

are there any differences between a Marquee 8" to a 9" Neckboard?

if yes, can a 8" neckboard be upgraded to a 9" ?

Thanks

Michael

just the cut out in the PCB board, the 9 inch need to be cut to work on the 8 inch I believe. its the shape of the socket on the tubes.

yep, I just upgraded my 8500 to be a 9500. Used the same neckboards. I had to mod them, but only because I'm not running stock tubes.

You might want to ask Tse for confirmation on this, but I THINK the beam current limiter is also set to a higher limit for 9" tubes.

It's not an adjustment you can make in the field. It's in the "x-ray critical protection" section of the circuitry and the procedure isn't documented, nor will you have much luck trying to figure it out without directions. It requires test equipment and fixturing that I think
nobody has but VDC.

But there's really no need to worry about it. You won't have any problems running either the 8 or 9 inch cards on either the 8 or 9 inch tubes. The only time you'd ever have to worry about this setting is if you had a card with a badly set BCL or damaged BCL circuit and
it was causing HV shutdown without good reason.
