ok i know its old, but it has worked for me for several years(the iscan pro not the BG). i have a barco graphics 800 that i use with regular dtv, dvd player through the iscan pro.
the original problem was that if the pro was moved one of the tubes would go dark. if you wiggled then it would work for a while

what seemed to be the problem is the vga output on the iscan pro appeared to be messed up do to pressure on it(it was located on top of my av rack and was constantly being pushed up against the wall). thought it was the cable at first so i got a new vga to 5 bnc cable. Nope no picture at all. PJ says no input detected (even when i wiggled it)
. then tried to connect to crt directly through a s video and i get a picture( albeit a pixilated one).. so i guess its the iscan pro.
after i disconnected it and reconnected it now i have no picture at all.
want to get a used iscan hd (do to low price $100-150ish on ebay) but want to upgrade to Hd in the future.
my problem is i cant convince the wife to spend all the $$ at the same time to upgrade.(HD DTV, hdfury, cables, blu-ray etc.) Sad
so i have to take it in steps. with step #1 getting the BG working again. Very Happy

any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks
frank in phoenix

I'm trying to figure out what you want to do from your description. So if I understand this right the projector is fine but you can't get your sources to work because the iscan pro is dead? I would say the cheapest and easiest solution would be to replace the iscan with another used one, right?

akajester,
yes that seems the cheapest way to start. i bought the barco 6-7 years ago from curt and basicaly done nothing with it(besides watch it 3-5 hours a week) since i hooked it up and now i seem to be waaaay out of the loop as far as all the new stuff u can do with it. i just want to do everything the right way.

i hooked up my dvd player directly to the PJ via s-video and got a picture that wasa 3/4 size of screen and kinda washed out and pixilated. so i kinda wanted to make sure that the pro was the problem. and it seems so.
also wanted to get opinons if for the $$ a used iscan HD is the best way to go and if it will work when i upgrade to hd. i read all the fax sheets but most of the terms are over my head lol. i remember when i didnt know what vga or bnc meant.
thanks again

Did you try the iscan pro on a different display like a tv? I'd be curious to see if the unit works elsewhere. Would be a bummer if you had a bad input card or something on the Barco.

Try another source into the barco. Get a vga to bnc cable and hook up your computer and see if it works.

Did a svideo to svideo off of regular DVD player. Worked put not that great of picture and only filled 3-4 screen. Also used portable DVD player with RCA cable to a BBC adapter. Worked also. As the pj worked pretty well the way it was set up e cept when I had to wiggle the connection of the VGA input to the Iscan pro. I'm hoping it was the cable or pro.
I bought a iscan HD+ on eBay yesterday so we will see if it works with the ops cable or the new one.
On that note does anyone know if u have to do the mod like we had to do on the pro with the h/v sync. ? Can never remember which color went to h sync and v sync. Lol Thanks again

I followed Chip's post on avs. try this instead: Connect a regular computer monitor to the output of the DVDO and see if it shows a pix. If not, the DVDO is bad.

ok. update.
used a vga to vga and hooked up pro to computer monitor as Curt suggested and works awesome. so i guess it was the cable after all. already got the hD+ from ebay and really like the features so ok with the purchase
now all i have to do is re dial it in all over again. lol
thats a project for this weekend.
thanks again for all the advise.

ok. thanks for all the help. up and running with new cables and new iscan HD+. sem to have it dialed pretty much in

new issue.... it seems that when i looking at a sreen with a lot of white, if it stays too long the white seems to turn brownish.
i tested it on a homeshopping network kind of channel after noticing it in movies and it is alot worse when there is a white background for longer than 5-10 seconds.
the question is is this a processor or barco issue?

oh if i change channel quicly back anf
d forth it starts over again at white then turns brownish again
thanks
frank
