I have dealt with Mac on a few items and he has been excellent to deal with. I would (do) have no issues with sending him items of any value.

Same here. Only thing I could figure is he's kind of a loner with a desperate need to belong, and has one of those obsessive personalities that cause him to go hell bent for leather into the hobby of his choice. I suspect that he's only as vehement as he is about CRTs because by being so he becomes a 'member of the club' without having to do anything else. And the more vocal he is about it, the more he thinks he proves himself to everyone around him. I'd lay dollars to donuts that if he gets ostracized from the CRT community due to stuff like this, he'll pop up on some knitting forum making dozens of posts about needlepoint and how much better it is than crochet... rinse and repeat.
At least, that's my theory.

The fact that you know anything about knitting is a little unsettling

I totally agree... But, again - I was always surprised being as big of a CRT nut as he was, that he never showed up here. Isn't that weird? But, maybe it's like you said... Maybe that was stepping out of his comfort zone... It's more big fish in little pond over at AVS these days... I mean, if you post once a day in the AVS CRT forum, that's "prolific"...
I don't know... I still don't get it.

What? All I know is that it exists. For all I know, needlepoint isn't even a kind of knitting. I just put three words together that I figured nobody here would know enough about to call me on if it was absurd.

Alan never gave an update, but it looks like everything was taken care of. I would still like to know the details of the transaction.
| Quote: | Alan and everyone reading this.
I wanted to apologies to Alan here to for the delay (...I have already explain to him the reason why! ...so no need to get into it here! Suffice to say that I was not directly at fault...at least not a 100 percent!)
For all of you reading this I wanted you all to know that: No one was involved in resolving this issue, also I was not refusing to get back to him, (...and the log ons are the result of auto load pages every time someone opens a browser on my main pc.)
OK so... I wanted you all to know that all of Alan's boards were returned to him, (I will also be buying and sending him a new moome box in the upcoming days.)
Alan has accepted my apologies on this matter and as far and I know we are all square on this once I send him a Moome box.
Once again I am sorry Alan for this whole mess but like I said I was not directly at fault here.
Thank you all of you for your understanding(s) and patience Specially Alan!
Sincerely
Martin |

Guys!
Things are not good with me. I sent Prehjan a modded VIM in February, I have not seen a dime of money or a board in exchange going on six months, despite his multiple promises to take care of things.

Alan,
Galen just told me about his thread so I came and had a peak. Did you ever get your parts back from him????
Here is what is interesting . Back in May I got his PM from him on AVS. Look like he may have needed your boards to fix his?

I wonder if you may have the info that I need! ....read on!
Hello Chuchuf
I wonder if you may have a list of caps and other little parts that may need replacement on my G90's H board!
...or you may know of someone that could have this info handy....like the solder points that may need to be re soldered, you know the usual suspects/trouble spots.
Let me know if you do please
Thanks
Martin

Terry,
I can interpret that in several ways. He may have been trying to hide the fact that he was working on someone's G90, so you might more freely give up the info if it was his. Ok, actually that is all I have.

I assume we're talking about the YA. There are a couple of well known issues with different symptoms due to various parts failing. John W has a good handle on most of these and may be something he's already familiar with.
What are you seeing with this particular board?

Well - I hope this is good news that Alan got all his boards back....???
Terry and i had one of our long & rambling discussions today and I mentioned
this issue, and it seems like Terry had done some calibration work in the past
and shared my very positive impressions of Alan. I certainly hope between Terry
and Curt and John W, the 'senior' guys can put things back to rights, and the
highest purpose of an enthusiast's forum can be achieved - good results for all...
Regards,
Galen

I appreciate the positive words and been holding off posting until I received the Moome Box back. I have not received it back yet but did get an email yesterday he has ordered a new one for me. I'll keep the post updated.
Tim, sorry for you dealings with Martin. It took me alot of calls, threats and research to get the boards back.
Terry, That was a really interesting email you received. I don't know what his intentions were and if he thought there was a quick and easy fix he could handle. He actually at one point claimed he had it fixed and was going to ship and then a couple months had passed. None of the boards were ever touched in the time they were gone.
Here is a photo of the issue the YA board is displaying. The image of the lines in the box flicker non stop regardless if it's a white screen or movie/tv.
Thank you all for the interest and thoughts![/img]

OK, I've verified the problem, but also that it comes and goes at will. Go figure.
Don't hold your breath, but this is one YA board that I might be able to repair!!
Of course I have none of the parts in stock, so I'm online ordering them now. I'll update in about a week when I get the parts in..

Hi there.... just wondering if you have had any luck?
I used Martin to repair my computer and he claimed I would have it back within a day or so, well it's been since May and it's late August now. He stopped replying to my emails and texts and calls. I brought a Small Claims Case against him, and I just want to get my computer back, so I was wondering if you did get your stuff back?
I don't want to press criminal charges, but I will do so should I see he does this all the time. My computer wasn't even worth anything anymore, but it has all my documents, music and pictures that i have had for over 5 years, including my baby when she was born!).
Has anyone else had problems with this guy?
