I will be curious to see how you like working with the G90 compared to the Marquees. The G90 is much better behaved

i too am always looking for 9500ultras but they appear to be quite rare in europe, i havent seen 1 listed in 1/2 yr now for less then 3000 euro.
what do you want with a sh*tty sony the thing streaks. |
Well when Spot was still prowling ebay/marktplaats and the forums, you wouldn't have stood a chance;-). He got one Spätz unit from htforum for €250,- Glycol issue turned out to be fairly managable.
He just mods it to take away the streaking and gets the best 9" light output around.
Nice looking case except for the two little dents on top.

You will at least get some magnetics to play with. I see no reason why the G90 focus yokes couldn't be adapted and recalibrated to be truly excellent in a Marquee.
It would also be possible to adapt the electronic CPC coils into a Marquee with the aid of a small variable power supply and some creative engineering. As you already suspected...
The advantage of the electronic CPC coils would be that you wouldn't have to be twisting and turning things. The adjustments would be very much like electronic astig adjustments.

Ok what do i do now. I am suppose to go tomorrow to NJ to pick up arguably the ultimate CRT Projector. But a guy who saw my comment on AVS made me an offer to buy it. Double what I paid and he lives right by the place.
So what do I do? I kinda Want it now not sure what I am going to do with it. If i keep the marquees for the blend and retube with 9 inches the HD10's from the G90 will be awesome then I'll need to just find one more set. I can sell the other parts like tubes and YA board and make my money back Id think.
Arrggg Plus I kinda wanted to try to modify the neck boards to make the thomas tubes work and possibly help Cliff keep the Stack up for another 8000 hours.
Decisions decisions decisions.

Pick it up & determine it's worth before you decide anything.

Go pick it up and play around setting it up. But don't do your usual tearing it apart to see how it works even though it already works fine.
Just go get, it set it up, watch the picture, then decide what to do. You can't lose on that deal no matter what.
That is as long as you don't tear into it.

Now that you've tortured and teased everyone, just go pick up the POS and be done with it.
You're getting the lenses at a fair price and you can hold a couple of those boards hostage for enough money
to still turn a profit.

LOL..... Geez, you'd think you were having a baby and your calling home every half hour..... "Hello, were at 3 centimeters......... ok, now were at 6 centimeters.....
Are you giving out cigars when you get the baby home?
Oh, and I'm just kidding.
