I just bought a mint Dwin HD700 with Transcanner 2 at a local yard sale. Came with a HTM SL-8000 remote, factory mount, all the manuals and service records and some of the cables. How much? $60.00 cash.....
The original sales receipt in 2001 was $19,950.00 for the projector alone. With installation and the other gear he paid over $57k. Times have changed.

Ditto. Here in "flyover country", I'd have to go to garage sales every saturday for a month before I could find one thing I'd be interested in, and it definitely wouldn't be a CRT projector... In the unlikely event I did find a CRT projector around here, it'd be an early-80's video-grade machine, and the seller would want $100 for it.

That is one sweet pj.
SoCal is still the best right now for pjs. I get tired of hearing Prehjan talk about how easy they are to find. Atlanta and SoFl are two top ten markets. Even as big as they are, they don't come up that often.

I figure it is a giveaway to someone that will get the bug like we have. I have some friends that love my theater but are on a tight budget and need a cheaper way into the hobby.

I had those sitting outside on a pallet under a tarp and someone swiped them. Gone are the BG800 and the 1271! They took a couple of old printers that were holding down the tarp as well. They took the tarp and pallet too.

Uh, I did make a sneak trip to SD recently... and 'found' two projectors. Go figure!
(OK, kidding!)

And to think I'm leaving San Diego this evening. Here I could have scored a Dwin... of course, convincing them to let me put it in the overhead bin would have been a bit tough.

You were here and didn't even call me? I have an extra set of HD-10L's that we could have stuffed in your carryon!

the funny thing is they most likely couldnt setup the projectors and had no idea what to do with them... why did you have them outside in the first place?

They were outside due to lack of space inside. I tried to give them away to a good home but no one wanted them.

I can attest to that. He's always calling me trying to get me to enable his addiction of sweet deals on projectors by taking them off his hands!
