I have a saved search since I own one of these PJs. This one reportedly has great tubes and works fine.

Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250628391815&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I almost bought it and flew to Memphis to drive it back to ATL, but rental cars were over $225 to get it here. A cheap ($117 round trip) ticket made the total price a little steep just for a spares machine. And I just didn't want to do the freight ordeal.

I hope someone on this forum got it and will appreciate it. If the PQ is anything like mine, someone got a screaming deal.

That's Arlie's 10PG. It's a beauty. He took it down when he moved from Chicago to Memphis, but didn't have a HT to put it back up.

I live close to memphis and would love to have one of these... but where the heck would i put it, and i threw my back out 3 months ago so no lifting into a car. There was a retubed pgxtra about 50 miles away from me a few weeks ago, but i couldn't lift it. What a shame, i'm sure it went for pennies.

That's just a disgusting price for an exceptional projector. I tried to bid on it, but my bid went through a second or so too late and was rejected. Sad

He would have gotten a lot more money if he'd just posted his tube face pictures that he has on his website. Not doing so probably cost him a couple hundred or more.

Yeah, but just look at the condition of this green tube.

Blue & red were even better. Someone got a frackin steal.

6000 hrs on the tube has virtually no negative effect whatsoever when the PJ has been run properly, and this PJ has been set up and calibrated by Ken W.

I would have probably paid $1k or more for it.

And, "It comes with the remote, mount, manuals on cd, spare powersupply, a moome hdcp stripper and 5bnc to hd15 cable. " THAT'S worth $227.

As far as the tube life goes, mine has around 3,500 hours and the tubes are perfect. I run my contract and brightness at 43% and 46%, and have plenty of light.

The only downside is that this thing weighs 225 lbs. I could lift my 9PGXtra with a friend, but the 10pg needs four guys, a genie lift and some solid rigging. And a really solid place to hang it.

If I had known it would have gone so cheap I would have flown and drove to get it, just to have a spare unit.

Oh well. Hopefully the guy who got it will appreciate it.

It's easy to ceiling mount a 250lb CRT projector without any assistance. Just strip it down to the bare chassis. Then hang the ~30lb chassis and then start re-assembling it. It only takes a couple hours from start to finish.

All the weight is in the lenses and power supplies and tubes.

True... You wouldn't even have to strip it down that far... Just some case pieces, the lenses and the LVPS is probably good for 30+ pounds, putting it back in the manageable range for two guys. My buddy and I hung my completely-assembled G70 standing on two chairs and the projector on a stand, so were just lifting from waist-high to the just at our heads... So, around 90lbs ea. 3 guys would have made it a breeze.

each lens is about 20-30 lbs iirc, the LVPS should also be about 30 lbs

Yep, on a 9" machine you're looking at ~100lbs by removing the lenses & LVPS & HVPS alone. About ten minutes of work. Smile

I just like to go the extra step and remove the tubes & cards, which make it easy for one person to lift the chassis without assistance & get one end bolted up, so you can move around freely to bolt the other three ends up. If you have an 8' ceiling, this only requires a stepstool.

A nice small (standard NEC?) brown 4:3 square, a tad overflashed.

A fellow member just mentioned on the Dutch forum he had seen a 10PG go on ebay for 45 euro, recently. Ebay is a very slow market overhere, thats why eBay paid a couple of hundred million for Marktplaats.nl;-).

I wonder if Arli tried to put the word out in the community, or tried to sell on Videogon... Seems like he should have been able to find somebody that would have been willing to pay a hell of a lot more than $227.
