Do you have both the H and V deflection wires and the DIP switch settings for front floor?

I try DIP 4 and check front/floor, which was endeed wrong, but both attemps do not change the behaviour of the projector...

Reproduceable is that the projector starts for about 10 sec with crt on and everything ok after disconnection for about one night... On next try it shutdowns after 1 or 2 seconds.

Thanks to all for answering and helping...

Not clear on what your saying. I'm trying to make sure you have your settings and deflection wires set properly.

On DIP switch 2, you should have switch 3 and 4 on open, and your deflection wires should be arranged for front floor.

Ok, sorry. My english is not the best...

This is what I have done... and indeed I had to correct the connector orientation.
But the error remains the same.

So I try this:
>If they are and you still have a problem set dip 4 to short to initialize the E2ROM.

But the error remains the same here, too...

Further question:

At an ATX Powersupply for Computers i have the opportunity to connect two cables (usually green and grey on mainboard connector) and then the powersupply goes in ON - Mode.

Does anybody know if such thing exist for LVPS? In this case i could measure the voltages without connecting the Pj to LVPS?

Any ideas left, what I could try?

Reminder (try to precise the problem):

Situation after one night power cord disconnected:

After pressing Power-button the projector changes from STANDBY to ON and in the same second back to STANDBY. After 3 sec the projector changes to ON again and runs about 15 sec with CRT on. Then it goes back to STANDBY.

Situation after the projector start fails (see above):

After pressing power-button the projector changes from STANDBY to ON and after 1 or 2 sec goes back to STANDBY. This repeats several times and then the projector stays in STANDBY.

No, there's all sorts of sensing circuits that will either activate or shut down the projector. so all checks need to be done in circuit.

The GP 3000 manual here should be very close to the 5000:

Again, it's been years since I worked on either one, so I'm a bit hazy on the circuits of the 5000 without having one in front of me.

During downloading the service manual of GP-3000, I start looking around again in the Pj and then I found this...

I am not familiar with LC Projectors, but what the **** is this?

that's glycol which has leaked from the bellows and has potentially caused corrosion on any circuit boards it may have spilt on.

Yes, of course... but why are these LC-tubes so leaky? Boards have no corrosion...

Slowly I'm going to sure if I would actually make the effort to get the projector running, so:

The Pj. has colored C-Elements (red and green): Are they useable in marquee 9500, too?

There looks to have been some significant amount of leakage. If there is no signs of corrosion on any of the boards it's because the projector was mounted on the ceiling when it happened. Is there stains on the inside of the top cover? Take a flashlight and look in through the lenses for signs of a large air bubble. That's the one that leaked. At that time, also look at the condition of the tube faces. If there is signs of wear, I'd cut and run. If the tube faces look OK, I'd continue on with trying to get it running. I would not spend any money on re-sealing the tubes if it can't be made to run.

I do think the c-elements will fit in another 9" LC projector.

I've never seen a 5000 but isn't there something someplace that displays a error code of some sort?

No, no error code.

You really need a working chassis to swap bits with.

The value is the C elements. The rest of a 5000 is a boat anchor.

The phosphor of all tubes is in very good condition and i wonder if it is possible to take all electronics from a 6PG or 9PG with wear tubes and use only the tubes of GP5000?

But before i start, some further question:
The GP5000 is very dim, are the tubes the reason for this or the eletronic?

Does anybody have some experiences with such remodelling?
