Hi,
I wonder if the Electrohome Marquee 7500 was known as 8100 in Europe.
An upgraded 7500 perhaps. I have found an ad with that description so I'm curiuos.
On Curts Manuals/Download of Marquee stuff there isn't a model called 8100.
The same goes for CRT Projector Specifications > Electrohome. There is no model 8100.
Model 8110 is closest, but then again that is a model of it's own.

Is the 7500/8100 a better machine than an 8000? Is it closer to an 8110 or a 7500 in performance?
You see I have a broken 8000, and the 7500/8100 could be uses for spare parts if the 8000 is the better one.

7500 (8110) is better than an 8000. How much probably depends on the 8000.
If you are lucky it might even come with 6 pole magnets and 03p VIM. But don't count on it.
Mine did however. You can imagine I was happy =)
What problems do you have with the 8000? I might be able to help. PM if you want.
I guess you are looking at the 7500 in Lund. 6k is a lot and might be too much for a 8" these days.

The 8110 is a slightly downgraded 8500. It's limited to a max of 110 KHz horizontal scan, which is more than enough for any HD mode, and doesn't come with electronic astig or contrast modulation. The scan limitation is a software limitation but it uses focus yokes that do not have astig windings.
What I've seen of 8110s myself (I had one and sold it to a fellow forum member who used it for quite a while until he moved into a
location that didn't allow him to keep using it) was that it had a very sharp, crisp picture and impressive resolving power. The convergence
grid looked as sharp as most well setup 9" machines.
With a firmware upgrade and a couple of parts it's an 8500. I believe the 8110 firmware doesn't actually support the CMM or astig
options. (But if you knew the ultra secret menu password, maybe even that could be changed. I'm not sure.)

It supports astig, (says not installed in meny) I have one and will install it later. The coils are already changed when I changed tubes.
It would be a bummer about CMM if it's not supported. Maybe Tim or tse can confirm?
