I know this was mentioned briefly in the Marquee Maintenance thread (I think?) but I have a question regarding the caps at location C1 and C2 on the pre-ultra HDM (upper right corner)
the original 1995 board had a little 100 nano-farad cap (ceramic?) at C1 and a 10uf Al EL at C2. The later standard for the Ulra boards is a 2.2uf Mylar at C1 and 47Uf Al EL cap at C2. Obviously someone decided a little more power was required here. Since the bulk of the stuff I work on is older 1995/96 Ive decided to add this work to HD mod's and I'm a little confused as to the Metalized Mylar.
It seems like most places don't list this but call it "metalized Polyester" ? Is this the same thing, here's the cap I plan to use there (same physical size but slightly higher 67 voltage rating which is always a good thing)

Mylar is kind of a generic term for plastic dielectric caps like metalized polyester. That is what the ultra HDMs have installed.

thanks for clarifying Scott, this is one thing I didn't want to guess on
I do too but the 14 week lead time I'm not so crazy about
