|
|
Hey Fellas,
I pulled out my XG for shits and giggles this weekend, and have noticed while converging it that the blue image is fluctuating in size... almost dancing back and forth.
Now I was only doing a very hasty setup, so I had to use a lot of electronic adjustment to make up for my less than stellar mechanical placement - would this possibly just be a case of over-taxing the convergence controls or is this a sign of something getting ready to die?
Thanks
Ben

Your HV lead is loose in the HV splitter. Reseat it, and I'll bet it will go away. that's assuming it fluctuates both in an H and V direction. If it's the H direction only, then clean and reseat the H yoke leads on the H deflection board.

Yep, Deflection Coil/Yoke leads on the Def board.
Common issue.

Thanks guys, I reseated the connectors on the deflection board and giggled the HV lines on the splitter. To actually take off the HV lines, are they a bayonet style connector like on a Marquee?
Anyways, this seemed to take care of the problem for the most part - I still have some wiggly test patterns (I seem to recall this being a flaw with all XGs?)
