Wow Awesome installation. I mean I had a look at the website and when talking about mounting TVs on walls, these guys mean business.
Can you mount my 32" CRT TV on my plasterboard wall? Would look amazing wouldn't it?

I say we leave everything in the original post, save for the name/phone/URL, and continue to berate what by all accounts would be work most any weekend warrior could/would do...
Geez... Hang a plasma over the fireplace, snap a picture of it with a flash point/shoot, then go spamming forums. Please. Looks like a professional company, too.

Actually, let's leave it all as-is for a day or so. I'd like to see what a company like this has to say for themselves and if they're going to try to defend this junk marketing. I just sent this to them via their contact page:
| Quote: | To whom it may concern,
I'm not sure if it's some individual's idea of a good marketing plan, but our home theater forum has been "spammed" with a sales/marketing post and an amateur-looking photo of a fireplace plasma install most weekend warriors would be comfortable taking. It includes the name, phone number, and URL of your company.
http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=247032
If the ultimate goal is increasing sales, then in my opinion spamming enthusiast forums is actually counter-productive. Personally, I'd never patronize a company that posts unsolicited marketing material for no reason other than their own self interest, and I know most others' opinions would be similar. Why a company that specializes in high-end residential and commercial A/V installation and integration would stoop to the same sales tactics as the sellers of male enhancement drugs and DVD ripping software is simply beyond comprehension.
Just thought somebody would like to know. Feel free to drop by our forum and explain the marketing plan... I know I'm not the only one that would love to hear the reasoning behind the strategy.
Regards,

I am sure they don't care. They seem like the ilk to leech & run.

I don't understand how they think that the pictures on their website could possibly help their business. Some are pretty nice pictures but many of them are either (a) out of focus, (b) have wires/paint cans/boxes all over the place, or other things that make it look like the photo was taken half way through the install.
The first thing about good home theater pictures is to hid all the clutter and make it look COMPLETED and INVITING.
Why they would take the time to post such photos is as confusing as to why they would post here.
Reading their site it's obvious they know little about home theater. There's no "meat" on their site. They simply know how to hang flat panel displays on a wall and fish wires. For example, their Design & Engineering section shows this photo:
Nice wiring!

I know... At least spend a couple of hours and dress the wiring in the rack. Then, spend $50 and go to a Saturday photography workshop and learn how to use a tripod and available light or at least bounce the flash for pete's sake... You're supposed to be showing off your BEST work. In this case, it's probably ALL the work.
I google mapped it... The address is a residence, so it's a guy working out of his house. Not that there's anything wrong with that - I did it for years. But, at least that explains why A) There are no big, polished installations, B) The photography sucks, and C) the slightly confounding issue of a commercial installation company spamming forums.

Hey, it's a step above the stupid software spammers. At least this spammer is in the US of A.
How about we all send them an email to see if they will travel to your own town to hang the plasma you bought at Costco?
Better yet contact them here, they claim that they will do a free site survey:
http://www.techrowe.com/contact.html
<edit> I filled it out and sure enough they called me 5 minutes later. (I told them on the site that I had 20 plasmas in Wa. state that needed mounting. )
The woman 'claims' that 'someone' in Turkey and Pakistan took their website info and is posting it around various other sites. I told her that I didn't believe her and told her that their spam is looking pretty stupid at this point.
Kal, can you see if whoever posted the above is really not from their company?

Wow, the original post was indeed posted from 119.152.40.95, which geolocates to Islamabad, Pakistan.
Now, if that's accurate, why on God's green earth would a spammer post spam for some unrelated site?
The ONLY explanation I can think of off-hand is if the Maryland folks paid some fly-by-night service for search-engine up-ranking or increased site traffic, and this is the fly-by-night's method for doing so. Pay somebody .50/hour to copy/paste spam forums. Google hit on a bit of text from the post here showed a hit on Audioholics too, but it's already deleted.
Not sure what the hell is going on here.
Weird.

very simple - spammers are now being "off-shored" instead of keeping those jobs here.
feel their pain.

That's what I would suspect too. I get TONS of emails from companies wanting to help "increase my search engine ranking". Lots of them have you simply enter your info on their site, pay a few bucks, and then I can only assume they go off and start spamming.
