I have an XG 75 that won't sync to any signal that's not at 75hz refresh. I tried connecting a HDFury2 to it and it will show an image way off center with the BD player set to auto resolution. When I try to play a disc the image is scrambled. I was using it with the computer and could control the refresh that way, but I'm not able to with the HDFury. I tried connecting the HDFury to the projector with a very short cable, but no luck there either. I'm currently using a Runco DTV-947 with the HDFury and it works fine at 720p, but I would prefer to use the XG as it has a sharper image and should be able to do 1080p. So, my question is why won't the NEC sync?

By 'scrambled' are you getting a flashing moving image that is unstable or is it simply out of convergence and shifted? It could be that you simply have a new signal that the XG has no ENTRY to use. When you connect do you get a message in yellow saying either "New Signal' or 'Unrecognized Signal' (depends on which series as to the exact message). The XG's have separate memory blocks for the different scan rates so if this is the first time you've used that scan rate, the 'New or Unrecognized' is to be expected.
The simple way to deal with it is to create a new SIGNAL ENTRY while the new scan rate is input by copying an existing SIGNAL entry that you were using to a new ENTRY and save it. It may not be perfectly setup but should be way closer than before.

No, I don't have the ac adapter which is why I tried to use it with a 3 foot cable to see if I could get it to work. I had no problems with the Barco on the 3 foot cable either. When the video switches modes the picture rolls. It doesn't give a new signal message either.

Thanks! AC adapter is on the way. We'll see if that does the trick. Now if I can just find a 9" projector...
