Just looking for a confirmation on what I believe to be a failing system board in my 9PG.

Doing some of the mechanical set-up on the ground for the time being so I am using a regular Panasonic DVD player hooked up to my old DVDO HD scaler.

Here is the situation. No sync on S-Video, No Sync on Composite in ( I could care less about these as most would). After the warm up, not before I can get a Sync on RGBHV but I have to adjust the refresh to ~63hrz on the HD to get a lock. It will sometimes loose Sync on that as well. If I lower the refresh back down to 59.94 again I can get a lock but it will always loose Sync after a short time. I can not get it to lock on anything below unless it locks on a signal first then it will drop it. Same goes for higher refresh rates. When trying to lock on a signal there is an audible clicking/relay type noise that comes from the rear of the projector on the left side. I do not think it is coming from the HV board but somewhere in that rough area.

Any help would be grand.

James

Do the menus come up normally? If not, then yes, it could well be the system board..

Curt,

That one is also a hit or miss. Sometimes the picture is good @ 63hrz and the menu will not show up if I lower the refresh to 59.94 it will almost always come up. I also think that I am getting low light output from the tubes but I am almost directly relating that to not being converged and the focus being out to lunch. I can make out the picture on the screen but not that bright even in a completely dark room.

James
