Hi guys,

My green crt acts up every now and then again. The last movie I saw it displayed diagonal lines on green crt only during the movie. I apologize for the poor picture.I had to take it looking into the lenses. The diagonal lines are just now appearing, before then the green crt would kind of flicker and the raster would be outside the normal screen area that it was setup for. This is the only problem Ive had since Ive owned the projector?

Any suggestions?
thanks
Edwad Zigmond

Bad 2SK511 FET on the video amp board. If you are starting to loose one you might as well replace all three....

Another thread.

http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=175335

If Curt is out I have a few new 2SK511 spares.

It could also mean the thermal heat sink compound on the FET has gone bad...

Or I can repair them. Replace all three, the other two are close behind.

$35 incl return shipping to repair it. I've got 2 transistors left to fix these. DO NOT continue to run the set, you can spot burn the tube.

wouldn`t these work?

watch out for incorrect placement because of different pinout, source-drain-gate vs gate-drain-source.

the 2sk511 is when looking at the front from left to right sdg.

If you want to take the chance to spot burn a tube, you go ahead. I don't recommend that the end user with no spare tubes do this.

Ziggy, I'm selling most of the Barco 800 boards at $10 each. Convergence, video output. power supply and HV stuff not included. Thing is, I would not mess around with used video output boards since they can nuke tubes. I do have one or two brand new R and G tubes at $35 each, no blues, sorry!

Not sure those would work (no hole for the heat sink) but I do have a few new 2SK511's laying around.

I see your in the US so better to send to curt to make sure it's done right. You might consider buying a few spare 2SK511's just in case....

Sorry no, not at that price, but shipping to you will be cheap, say $15 per tube or something like that?
