Yes, but like a digital bulb, they will go dull in 300 hours

I've got a *couple* of Barco 808s reds I'd sell for next to nothing - and I'm closer than Austria. Smile

I'm curious to know how these Clinton tubes compare to the MECs.

Does this changeover apply to 8" units, 9" units, or both?

Have they also started putting Clintons into the ESCP raster calligraphic projector?

It kind of sounds like they're winding down and in stock depletion mode, doesn't it?

I'm just glad that I have under 500 hours on the tubes in my own 9500LC. At the rate I actually use that PJ,
the tubes will be showing a hint of wear about the time I die of old age.

VDC bought Clinton about two years ago. You should be able to find the press release/announcement I posted over at AVS, at the time.

Has anyone called them to get pricing on tubes?

CJ,
Are you asking if VDC is depleting their current inventory of Panny tubes or winding down CRT altogether? My guess is that it is the former. VDC will be the lone supplier of CRTs for as long as there is a demand. I asked Scott about this a couple of years ago and he said he thought it was cheaper for them to buy the Panny tubes than to make their own. Hopefully that has changed.
