I have a mitsubishi VS50705 big screen T.V. I have recently moved. At my old residence, we had digital cable and had the cable box connected to the t.v. w/ rca jacks. When we moved, we downgraded to extended basic cable w/ no box. When we connected the cable to either the ANT a or ANT b, the channels picked up, but had a constant flash of static. I'm not sure if it's something to do w/ the programming or if I need a converter box or what. Currently, we have the cable running through an old VCR. Also, once we got the t.v. here, the screen seems to have vertical lines "bouncing" and distorting the picture. Have we damaged something during the move?

Try connecting a DVD player to the a/v jacks. If that works, then try using the a/v output of the VCR into the a/v jacks on the set. That will bypass the internal tuner.

Also try doing an "Autoprogram" in the TV's menu with the cable connected.
