help barco 800 wont turn on

it makes no noise no fans turn on it does nothing does any one have any suggesting

what fuse are whear.

what is common that makes these not turn on

can some one give me like a llist of things to cheek and tell me what to look for and or what parts might i need

THe problem will be on the main SMPS or the fuses on the AC input board. THe SMPS fails commonly, and there's lots of mods to do on it to make it more reliable. I can do those mods, the location of the boards is here:

im not sure if it will work bnut i will see what do you all think could this solve the problem

and im going to try what Curt Palme suggest when i get home from work if you have any more suggesting let me know

I traded a guy a broken laptop for it the guy said he got it from a friend and was told that it worked and now i see that it dont work so i got about $100 in to it right now and im hoping to get it running under $150 so all your guys help means alot thanks

Its very easy to spend lots of money on a projector when you are not sure what the problem is. Listen to Curt. SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) on those sets do cause problems usually because of age. You could try and get one cheaply but it will be the same age and probably have the same problems. Curt knows the problems and fixes them so that you can enjoy your projector.

i have been reading and larning.
more i read on this site more i learn i read if the ac board fuse slot show discloured on it it should be replaced my does so it wont hurt for me to get a new one and i now know where to look for cracked solider joints and now know the problem does lie with the smps board so im going to work on it tonight and see if i can get it running thanks for you help i now have a plan i will let you all know if i get it working or not and please keep giving me advice i need it

Seriously, if you're not a tech, you should stop NOW. Fuses should be checked with an ohmmeter. Stock Barco fuses are filled with sand, so without a continuity tester, you can't check them visibly for being blown.

i found one fuse blown i re solder all bad joints still no luck im going to check all fuses with a ohmmeter like suggested other than i dont know what to do next

im having a hard time finding the fuses i need what fuse can i use far the ac board and what fuse can i use for the smps i need to get them from raido shack (they are close to my home)
