I guess I can live with the spelling differences...but I really do wish you'd adopt the metric system - make my work much easier. |
Give up on this one Mark--it is never going to happen. There was a big push in the 1970s. It ended up going nowhere. I don't think we'll live to see America on the metric system.

This is great!! hey Mark did you know that Thomas Jefferson was one of the first Yanks to encourage adopting the System International?
I have often thought that if the Brits can even see the benefit, and toss the old system for one a bunch of French guys made up that one day in my lifetime even the Yanks would join up , but I think Dave is right
at least they drive on the correct side of the road

"WITH WAF BUILT IN"
You would have thought that all wives of quee owners would jump at the opportunity of reclothing this ugly monster....but no! my wife thinks theres nothing wrong with what we've got!
You might be thinking that maybe she only seen the "How a case is made" pics, but no.... she's seen and touched a Vision One up close in the flesh.
I can never understand her resistance when it comes to AV related stuff, she knows i'll just get one anyway.

Women have their sewing machine, their clothes, and their shoes. Things that they
can choose and buy that are THEIR playthings and tools. We have ours.
Never intervene when a woman decides what sewing machine to get!

Yep, that's the way it is at my house. I go ahead and get what I want then often followed in a reasonable time by a "Honey, can I get a -------?" from her.
Of course she gets what she wants!!!
t*t for Tat, as they say!!!
Edit - I'm surprised that my "t i t for tat" got censored on THIS website!!!

Anyone who has ever worked on old British cars can understand why they went metric. Ever heard of British Standard or Wentworth? How about having 4 sets of tools to work on your cars.....now down to 2.

They are types of threads/bolts/spanners, not systems of units.

derfla - what is involved in replacing the case? is it just a matter of unscrewing existing case, then screwing new case in the exact same way? If I were to order now, how soon could you have it ready, deluxe finish?

The sides and top go on the same screws. The front needs two small holes drilled, like your reference case has that allows the front to tilt.

so far it looks like a week per case. the dry time of each layer and paint is something that you can't speed up. the good thing is I have been making them non stop. so I have some parts here.

It can come with the rear cable cover, as of now I do not have a mold made for that cover but I do have nomadII cover here to copy.

And that cover does appear to be the easiest piece to copy. but I digress since my knowledge of fiberglass would fill a thimble.

I do not have my camera here to get a picture of the rear cover, personally I do not think the rear cover is necessary. as I said iI do not have a mold for it but it can be done. Each case will ship in there own box every part will be wrapped with the thin foam you see on most new consumer products, then each will also have bubble wrap around it and surrounded by peanuts. the foam and bubble wrap will protect the finish. I will send you a pm on shipping cost.

So the rgbhv cables behind are supposed to bend downwards out of the way? How much room is there behind the cover for this? I'm using Belden 1694A, but it seems they stick out some ways before bending.
