Hi,

has anybody tried to connect the WD Live to a Lumagen HDP scaler?

I'm not able to make it work in the proper way.
The WD is able to output, via HDMI, RGB 16-235 or 0-255 or YCbCr. I tried all three but, connecting HDMI output to DVI Lumagen input, but: with RGB is displayed a red/magenta image and with YCbCr a green/cyan image; it looks like the Lumagen can't recognize the color space.
I tested the combo both with the TV and a Marquee 9500 (equipped with V2 HDMI Moome input card) and had same results.
If I connect the mediaplayer directly to the TV or the projector, there is no problem...
Even, there's no problem if I connect WD component output (set at 1080i60) to the Lumagen (outputting 1080p/48 for BD rip), but I'm concerned about video quality...
So, I think, there's a sort of incompatibility between WD HDMI output and Lumagen HDP

Any idea?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Yes, you can input 1080p24 and output 1080p48, no problem... My BD player outputs 1080p/23,976 to Lumagen HDP and the HDP output a very stable 1080p/47,96.
It does not accept 1080p50/60 input, as per hardware limitation.
My problem with WD is not that the Lumagen does not accept the input, but at any input (say even 480/576/p), it displays images with wrong colors (red/magenta or green/cyan). Don't know what happens, as I never had any problem hooking everything to the scaler..

Have you confirmed that the WD live is sending the Color space you set it And the Lumagen to receive by looking at the Lumagen input menu, just incase the WD is defaulting to the wrong one..

To me it sounds like there is A Color space config issue in your Video Chain some where ,
So all you devices are set to the Same color space & video 16-235 ?...

Cheers...

Yes, of course i checked that both WD and Lumagen share the same color space

Don't know, as all other stuffs (BD player, Sky HD decoder) and even the WD if connected in component (analog), work flawless... I'm afraid there's a sort of incompatibility between the WD HDMI output and the DVI Lumagen input... I've tried everything, included working on Lumagen EDID parameters, with no success...

Thanks for your answer..

Bests

does your Lumagen have the latest firmware? 1080p24 input was added fairly "recently".

Don't know if it has the last firmware (I will check), but surely it has 1080p24 support (as I use it for BD player) and "gamut mitigation"...

Cheers
