It won't hurt to leave it there. The only downside is the board will cost a little more than if you put a regular tant or electrolytic in it's place.

still awaiting the price for the pcb.

scott i ordered the cogs for all decoupling purposes plus a tant on the ths3201 or el5166s
pretty big order 567 euro but its enough for 3 boards and i still will have components left because of a minimum order of 50 for some components.
the smb plugs werent cheap either, 10 euro a piece i need 6 of course but ordered 12 for a 2nd board and then i still need the smb sockets for on the addon board and vnb`s and the ad834s (approx 30dollars a piece)
turns out to be an expensive hobby, not that it is really needed cause the picture already is amazing despite the blooming with high contrast.

Dennis, Alberta Printed Circuit boards are pretty reasonable cost wise. they have a PCB calculator on the site to see how close it might be.

I might want one just for fun. But i do like the 02-P boards the way they are with the peaking circuit, it is less noisy that the 03-P

i followed scotts suggestion and ordered cogs for all decoupling plus 1 tant so 4 plus tant.
1nf-10nf-100nf-1uf-6,8uf tant.
i still have some higher value tants from a previous order if i need some more but they will then be stacked upon the 6,8uf.

this is much more fun.
the circuit can be build with better components as well.
in the parts list from vdc they point out where to use 1% resistors but nowadays you can only buy 1% tolerance resistors or better, i havent seen 1 smd resistor with a tolerance higher then 1%.
yes, put them on the vnb`s.
change them on the vim as well.
use chipquick for removing soic chips.

i have made some traces wider and made the traces between the components wider too.
smallest trace is now 1.2mm
5v lines are 2mm.
i still cannot reach the guy who has to make the boards maybe he is on a holiday but i will be patient.

question about the groundplane, do i have to connect a ground plane from the addon pcb to a ground point from the vim or can i use ground from the chassis.

i think i am going to make the pcb`s myself.
i can buy a photosensitive pcb 151cm*51cm (double sided)
i can make 36 pcb`s this way.
all i need are some chemicals uv tube lights transparent printer paper and a finishing spray.
