One thing that seemed odd to me is that he works 100% alone up there. That's just plain odd for the various reasons that you'd expect: (a) It would tend to drive you crazy, (b) What if something happened? They have so much invested in the work he does and while he's able to handle the work by himself what's the big deal of having 2 if not 3 people for insurance purposes.
I understand the movie wouldn't have worked at all if he wasn't alone but that kind of irked me right from the start given that everything else science-y related in the movie seemed plausible/real.
Great movie however. Don't let that detract you from watching it.

SPOILER
Craig do you know how hard it is to see a movie in this day and age you have NEVER heard of AND have know IDEA what it's about ? That's what made it so enjoyable for me.
Please don't ruin it for others.
I not bashing you, but the surprise was the best part. |
Ah dude, that's why I said SPOILER in bold print So you didn't have to read what I wrote if you didn't want the SPOILER.

It was a small indy release that was picked up by Sony Classics. It did not have a wide release at all.
Little known fact: It was written and directed by David Bowie's son (Duncan Jones). The movie was 100% written for Sam Rockwell.

Well that's true. Two minutes into the movie I said to my wife that there is no way one man would be assigned to run a station that supplies 70% of the world's electricity But then I was surprised as the story unfolded.

SPOILER ALERT
I thought about that, too... But, the flip side is, maybe having only one guy is a way of insuring there's no trouble. What two guys could live together 24/7 for a year or two? What if there was a personality conflict? Would you murder each other? It's not like you can get away from each other. By having only one person, you eliminate all that.
Besides, if the company was able to program/reinforce memories of his home and family, certainly they could program/reinforce a construct where he wasn't suspicious of why he's doing it alone, i.e. it's his mission, his duty, it's for his family, etc.
Very creative story, and I'm not at all bothered by some of the details. It all worked just fine for me, and I'm usually particularly hard on technical elements of story.

Yes I get putting SPOILER in makes it apparent don't read this if you don't want to know. But for this movie everyone was being careful to not disclose the plot before Craig.
I was enticed to see it because the plot was being guarded. It was that guarding that really made me want to see an unheard of film. The fact that it was a low budget INDY film made it all the better.
Sorry Craig you peed in the pool IMO
SC unfortunately you became a lemming.
I take this Back.
EDIT: SC , I just read your SPOILER alert on page 1. Great job. I hope more people see that and than go watch, what is a terriffic flick, that shows what movies are supposed to be, an engrossing experience that doesn't need to be full of all out special effects to be entertaining.
Yeh for MOON

They showed it here in Arkansas... I assumed it was everywhere.
There is a website that shows all the upcoming SCI-FI movies that are in production, i lost it, but i heard of Moon on there and patiently waited every since.
