Dear all,
I've read the excellent "calibration for dummies" pages, and used them correctly to get good greyscale.
My problem is now setting up the red primary luminance correctly. According to the guide, one has to use a test pattern with 100% red, and set the Y to 21% of the 100IRE white level.
Problem is I am calibrating color though a transmitted satellite EBU color card, which I believe contains 75IRE primaries.
So in setting the red Y correctly would I do:
target Y = ( 21% x 100IRE white Y ) x 75 %
or would I need to take 2.2 gamma into account so it is:
target Y = (21% x 100IRE white Y) x (75/100)^2.2
Thanks,
