I have found the best way to get uber-low black levels from a digital projector is to stare naked at anything outdoors on the brightest, sunniest day for a couple of hours, super-saturate those rods and cones, and then run quickly into the boutique theater with something playing.
Of course, this only lasts 15-20 minutes and reality comes a knocking. BTW, AVP is probably a good test material, as if the coffin scene in KBv2. I doubt those jokers even had the Sim setup correctly. Open a store front, carry a bunch of merchandise, and claim you know something because everything in your store is expensive. Who cares if it looks ugly.

OOPS! You're right. I read the article too quickly.

I think it's always the third week in September, Wan...
September 22-26, 2010 (tradeshow September 23-26)
Georgia World Congress Center
Atlanta, GA
Don't tell me live right there in ATL and didn't take a day to go to CEDIA last fall...

It is interesting that they delayed it two weeks. I believe it was always right after Labor Day. I wonder if all of the Northwestern people complaining about the heat and humidity made them push the date.
Crabb, I think I posted here about it, but Wan didn't go. I know this is OT, but if anyone wants to go, then it is not hard to get in. Just don't show up with two toddlers and expect to get in.

Nope, SC, I did not. Which is why I had all of December off.

Bummer, Wan. Maybe this year. I've been to lots of trade shows, but CEDIA is truly amazing if you're into HT/AV/integration/automation. If you can make it, definitely go - especially since it's in your back yard.
Spanky, I think they must have moved it from early to late September when it moved from Indy to Denver. When I went in Denver in '06, I think it was already the third week of Sept.
I've only been the one time in Denver, and only for one day, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. So much to see, look at, play with... I stayed with family though, so I missed out on some of the evening activities. I'd like to go again this fall, but I might have to wait until Indy next year.
