Man, sorry guys... You're going to hate me for this, but… Painting a stock Marquee Ferrari red is like painting a Pontiac Aztek Ferrari red. IMHO, it's just not a sexy case, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to draw that much attention to it. Ferrari red works on a Ferrari because the underlying Pininfarina form is sexy as hell. A Pontiac Aztek? Eh, not so much.
Of course, part of the problem with the case in the photo is there's too much. The plastic sides in black to match the base, and the metal in red might have worked a little better.
Personally, I think the 'Quee looks pretty damn good in satin black or a charcoal metallic like on the Vision cases.

I have to agree with SC on this one... really "out there" colours only work when the underlying form is stunning to begin with. A Lamborghini in bright orange works, for example, as it's stunning to look at no matter the colour. Bright orange just screams "yeah, I know you're looking at me already!".
A Ford F150 however does not work that way. Paint it bright orange and all anyone can think is "why is that F150 painted bright orange?". The stock Marquee case is too "F150". Way too utilitarian to want anyone to draw attention to it so looking at the picture above, all I can think is "why bother drawing attention to that square box?". Sorry!

I have seen a Aztec in person and it looked bad both in and out(heck my uncle agreed with me and he worked at gm for 32 years(may he r.i.p) and he was a big car buff like me(sadly I didn't get my cordoba finished before he passed )
If the case is the fiberglass case then its going to look better then the industrial style that e home used
My Cadillac is black(red is a higher cost to insure)and it looks great when its clean
Don't get me started on the pig of a truck that is the f150

You should have seen the d.o.t trucks back of this(orange) they changed to white though now
My cordoba is a teal green metallic(really nice color for a older car)

OK, if somebody really wants to do red, I think the 'quee looks A LOT better the way I mentioned before. Plastic side panels painted to match the lower chassis plastics, and only the metal covers painted red. I added some light, modern-looking "MARQUEE" typography to dress it up just a bit more. You could get premium vinyl cut, or if you were really ambitious and/or know somebody with an airbrush, you could get frisket material cut and airbrush the typography on, then clear-coat the whole thing.

Nice work with the lettering ecrabb
Looks great
Not sure how mine would look two tone black and red but it would be worth a try(if not back to either a matte or gloss black)

I like how a thread here can just "wake up" again after 8 years, and continue on as if nothing had happened in the interim.

Um ok, it seemed kind of irrelevant to open a thread that was topical eight years ago, but not so much today.

Hey, look! A Marquee!
That was a GREAT show. My wife and I watched the whole show in a few months, and it was outstanding.

I just started seeing Breaking Bad to and recognized the car Vinny posted about immediately. I see about 2-3 episodes each night and currently @ episode 10 on season 2 so far, so got many many more good episode left to see. I feel a little guilty using my pj for this as I don't have HDTV for this.

I think I'm going to be sick(so glad I don't see those much nowadays in my area )
That pile of junk(now I am a gm guy so it has to be bad for me to admit it) was the most repulsive crossovers gm made
I wondered what were they smoking when they designed it(really I did) as it looks like the nissan juke does now
No wonder Pontiac went under(Buick had fancy sister car to that which looked slightly better(anyone care to guess the name?)though sales still didn't do well(mostly fleets bought them)
If any car deserved to be called a ugly duck it was the Aztec no matter what color it was(ps I did see one in red and if it weren't for the plastic it would have looked ok)

Dark blue tied for 4th place.. I wonder if my vinyl Smurf edition has pegged it up a notch..?
Anyway, I feel that if the stock side panels were sanded down, to get rid of that awful orange peel look about them, they too could look very nice in a Smurf blue color, but red? No, I didn't like either. Be it Ferrari or not. Just my opinion.
If someone had the skills with the computer, they could easily, with a few mouse clicks, change the Ferrari red into, say.. Smurf!?
