If you were going to paint a vidikron vision case, what color would it be?

options are of any shade. although a darker shade for them would be best.

For those choosing gloss, just remember that the reflection of the screen in the gloss paint will be distracting from the second row. Sure, it looks cool with the lights on, but the PJs purpose is what it does with the lights off. Smile

Not to mention that the gloss shows off fingerprints as well as any imperfections in the finish, such as scratches or dings.
I voted flat black. I'm already upset with my shiny front speakers for grabbing reflections. It's amazing how the little things begin to stand out when you really get into tweaking out your system! Smile

You can have the best of both worlds by having semi-gloss (satin) Black rather than completly flat, or full gloss black.

(don't make me post a picture of my Stealth G70 again)

I chose flat black, but really it wouldn't matter to me since I'd just hushbox it anyway. Smile

I don't see any need to hush box a marquee.

Everyone has different needs.

I've heard a Marquee with fan mods and while quiet, it's not silent and can still benefit in reducing noise if you want to maximize the dynamic range on the audio side.

(I've invested too much on my audio side of things to not go the extra mile to quiet down the projector!)

My color choice is a deep, rich shade on the edge between blue and purple, METALLIC, of course.

It would be DuPont Hot Hues Purple Rhapsody OR a shade close to it, after I evaluate
a full range of samples in person.

Reflections off the side of the projector's case, in the back of the room, would be trivial even if the case was painted a blinding shade of white.

The only way I can stick with black would be if the 2 side panels were made to appear to be carbon fiber"ish".

Don't say it Dave, I know the beauty is in the internals & on the screen.

My avatar tell the only acceptable color for crt case, other colors cause reflections and ruin grayscale tracking. Wink

My current marquee case is in flat black but my second one is going be Ferrari red(not sure how that will effect the setup when I do a blend or stack)

I like the red case over the black though my truck is black(which makes it look like I am FBI at times Wink )

Will try it out with the red case when I get the other marquee soon
