Has anyone experienced a converge issue where when you try to adj within the box on the screen it adjust the image to the right of the box?

I have tried to re-seat the chips on most the boards and have done several resets... any other suggestions?

Hello

It could be the control board, or deflection processor, or maybe the backplane chip has issues.

I could be mistaken but can't that be adjusted in the "super secret" section of the menus?

Ack I dont like unique! I want to hear "seen this 1000 times just...."

Ok I have a fresh bottle of deoxit! I will hit the deflection module first.

I know of all the secret menu's .. if there is a SUPER secret menu I would love to know about it!

You can brick your projector if you don't know what you are doing in the super secret menus, don't mess around with setting in there unless you are aware of the consequences. I don't have a marquee anymore so I can't advise and as I said before I'm not 100% sure that the problem you are seeing can be fixed in there.

Interpolated convergence does this and is normal, also normal convergence will affect it it just a bit if your paying attention.

The Convergence wave forms all come from the CLM, its possible the Chip that sends the waveforms to the convergence amps on the CLM has some cross talk issue with in it. Do you have another CLM to try?

But I think Chris is correct that there is somewhere in the Secrete menu where you can move the points of convergence as I read it long time ago on AVS I think. But I would be very very careful if you do find that menu code as you really can render your Marquee useless and have to either replace the back plane chip or send the the whole PJ to Tim or Curt to get it back, however if it is a bad CLM then that wont help.

Not that I know of.

And forget about solving this in one of the hidden menus. In one of them you can align the convergence grid, but how would that solve your problem, plus it's the menu you'll really want to stay away from.

You should have your CLM checked on another Marquee, or put another CLM in your Marquee. That would be the best way that I can think of to get to the bottom of this.

The problem seems to be in the CLM, unless you have something going on with the connections feeding the two sweep boards.

Great advice guys. I did the bad thing but it worked. I went into the secret menu and reloaded the eeprom. This fixed me right up!

I was going to mention another initialization as some times things get corrupted and doing that resets it all and things work again, I bet the Eprom reset is similar but also wipes out the Gz and drive settings.

Check in my topic here. It may be related to your problem. You'll know right away from the diagram that I posted in the initial posting.

General word of advice if you are working in the factory alignment menus: Make small adjustments and know which way you're
going with the adjustment. Remember the displayed value as well. If you adjust too far in the wrong direction and the screen goes
blank, do nothing except to back the adjustment value off slowly. The picture will reappear. The last thing you want to do is
freak out and start hitting buttons at random if you adjust your way out of a displayable picture.
