Besides getting colored lenses and buying the expensive joust mod adapters... Is their a cheaper DIY way to get better color saturation on a Barco 808 series pj?
Thanks!

you can colour the glykol with waterman ink, cost about 5USD and cost about half a day of work.

Search AVSForum for KennyG's (I think it was him...) research in to which Rosco color gel filters should be added to MEC tubes for correcting primary colors. They are cheap, and can be applied even more easily than coloring your glycol...

Colored clycol can also be taken from burned Sony tubes.

Stay away from filters....
I'd colour the glycol.

I used the colored glycol from a Barco 801s in my Marquee 8000, you could do the same with your Barco. Just have to find the tubes...

Can one change the glycol without taking the pj off the ceiling?
EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I can get all the info here;

No, that's a really bad idea.

Thanks Curt, but the tubes have to be pulled out first right? So the pj could stay on the ceiling?

You can take the tubes out while the 808 is on the ceiling.. but I wouldn't. One slip and you've smashed a tube as the neck hits the chassis.
