Hi, i got a problem with my 8500.
The Green Tube glows, so that you can see a slightly green shadow on the screen.
I changed the NECK boards and removed the Cable from the VIM. No change!
Then i changed the G2 cable, nothing again.
The tube glows only when the picture is totally dark, when there are light parts on the tube, the shadow "whent away".
I hope it's not the tube. Any suggestions?
Stefan

The interesting thing is, when there is ANY Picture on another tube (for example the Focus on RED) there is no problem with the green Tube.

My SONY G70 is experiencing the same issue.... the Green CRT 'glows' but not the Red or Blue.

In addition, the BIAS control on the Green doesn't function... but the Gain works fine. It would be interesting if you have the same thing.

I swapped out Neckboards but that wasn't the problem.

I also changed out the Green CRT tube and it wasn't the problem either. Charlie, at VDC, thinks it is probably the board that feeds the Neckboard that is at fault.

I hope to work with Curt to get the Bias working again. We're thinking it may be the Ya/Yb board(s).

God Bless, John.

One day later, the problem was blown in the wind!
I don't understand it, maybe something was charged in the inner of the tube.
