Could you give me some more guidance on installing ColorHCFR with an Eye-one display 2 on a Mac (OSX10.5.4)

The directions greyscale & color correction for dummies is only for a PC. Mac doesn't have the same directory structure . I can't see the Eye-one when I look fir sensors in ColorHCFR, but I didn't do anything to put them in the same folder or anything.

Thanks

Edit = I was going to suggest you run HFCR on a PC because the mac version pales compared to the PC version but I see they have updated the mac version since last time I checked and it looks much better.

Anyways... I don't have an EyeOne, I still have a Spyder II (I think it's accurate though because it compared precisely to a much more expensive sensor in testing.)

Still.... I'll poke around with the newer HFCR for Mac and then see if I can figure out any advice for your question.

Good Luck,

Brian

Exploring the mac version... I find it quite different but I like it so far.

HFCR finds my Spyder II without me doing anything but plugging it in.

That said.... I would love to replace it with a better sensor like the eye1 eventually.

I would agree that the mac and Pc versions of HFCR are different to the point that using the guide is not simple. I have always used an old retired PC notebook to run HFCR.

But... this newer mac version looks like it may be use-able... I have to go explore it further.

Hi,

Just went a few rounds with the mac version of HFCR. I am going back to using my old as the hills PC notebook. While I did discover a few new features in the mac version that made it closer to the PC version... it was still not usable.

I have a PII, Windows 98, craptacular barely useable PC notebook and I would rather use that with the PC version of HFCR than to use my Macbook.

I don't do windows at all since getting the macbook but this is the only thing I will continue to boot windows for.

If you want to use HFCR,... I suggest you stick to the windows versions. I don't have the Eye1 yet and maybe for that it's different but the mac port was not usable for me with my outdated Spyder II.
