I thought you might like to see the 1208s destruction.

That looks like a set with MEC tubes in it.

Does that mean replacement may be an option?

Yes, MEC tubes are easier to come by. It was the green you needed?
Is there a red fairly thick wire that runs from each CRT socket to the G2/focus block? If not, you have MEC tubes and I'd repair it.

No mechanically the tubes will fit. Its the orientation of the pins in the end of the neck that make the difference.

Yes indeed it was the green that shattered.
Does this pic help?

No, look at the neckboard. Does it have a red wire coming out of the crt socket.

I don't see any red wire on the board(s) on the tube's neck. But here's a pic incase you see something different. BTW, it looks like the model Number on the tube is PT18-205(G).

I took the remainder of the green tube out. Here's a pic of the Model tag:

From that burn I'd say the tube committed suicide. It was doing you a favor.

HAHA. Yea..I already knew it was nice and burned in, but suprisingly it didn't look TOO terrible on the screen when projected. In it's previous life, it was a conference room projector that was used quite heavily.
Any how, I'm still unclear as to whether this is a replaceable item. I mean, is this NOT the tube that is extremely difficult to find a replacement for?

THat is indeed a Panasonic (MEC) tube. If the set worked otherwise, I'd change the green tube and put the set back in service.
BB is right, the green tube needed changing anyways.
Someone got something better than a 6 tube to get to JBoom?

THese tubes are identical to the 180DVBs that BArco used in earlier models. A 180DVB drops in without mods.

And the P-16's as well right?

When you said "P18-205's" did you mean PT18-205?
On the AVS forums there is a list someone compiled of compatible CRTs:
180DVB
180DMB
P16LCP
P16LNN
P16LNQ
P16LNP
PT18-205
Not entirely sure these are correct as there seemed to be some confusion in the original post.
